    Hi all!
I have crunched D2ol on and off for a few years.
I changed internet providers and lost my old Xtremesystems account info, so I made a new one.
The old one was gearhead (I think) Im still 30th on the d2ol new stats.
Im in the old stats as well somewhere?
Anyway I loaded D2ol on my new 775 rig and man does it fly
compared to some of the other machines I have run it on.
Anyone notice a difference in crunch power between L2 cache sizes on the core 2's?
BTW: Theres a guy selling 2.4Ghz LV S604 Xeons on ebay, I scored a pair for $7
Does anyone have a PC-DL they want to get rid of??

Was just curious as to whether or not anyone was still alive. Sort of nice to have a little life in the forum I think, but then that's just me. Otherwise it really gets boring, and the mind starts wandering and sidetracked off to others things where there's a bit more excitement.

Meanwhile, I'm just watching those pesky cows. Thought maybe they would get hoof & mouth disease or something and go away, but from their daily stats that sure doesn't seem to be the case.

Im on once a week or so.... work sucks... but holidays are here so i'll be around.

and im still crunching... with my meager x2 system.

and now i find Penryn are delayed, which means i wont be able to upgrade until June of next year

also, the cows are probably buffering, and probably have enough cand's to take back Nr1 they are probably waiting til an anniversary or something...

    Speculation on my part.

Sorry guys I just made a 1000-mile move and have nothing going... I came ahead of the wife and pretty much everything I own and only have a few systems none of which are up and running D2OL, I'm posting on my brothers computer... When I can I'll get something on it but as for now I just have to sit and watch the D2OL world pass me by...

Glad to hear that you are okay there bud! Was beginning to wonder what had happened as I hadn't heard anything from you for quite a while. As for the puters I'm sure that you'll get them going in due time. That's about the last of things to get set up for a family guy on a long distance move.

D2OL's HD i/o was unbearable (task manager shows it in the millions for each node) on the Quad so this DPC page helped me move it over to ramdisk. Silent & fast now.

I deviated insofar as using QSoft's 64-bit Ramdisk which also comes with an automated scheduler for backing up to HD periodically (I have it set to 1 hour increments) & is easy to install (no manual regedit), set size to 128Mb, threw the entire D2OL1-4 directories in there (28Mb free w/ a 500 unit cache), then manually edited the .lax file with new paths.
