I would like to know, where I can find the RIGHT spot to measure Vcore on P35C-DS3R.

    EDIT: I found this: http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/p35c.jpg
    1,3625V in BIOS; multimeter shows: 1,351V idle/load 1,356V
    same time CPU-Z shows idle 1,328V/load 1,280V :S

    Hi again

I would like to know what the average motherboard temp is in everest and what does it stand for....?

Mine is 31'C idle and goes up to 80'C + on prime95 load @3.6Ghz 1.575V in bios

    Hi guys
so many posts in this thread.

I'm new owner of the DQ6 mobo and I will use Q6600 with WC (triple radiator)
It is recomened to change thermal compound with Artic Ceramicqe in the mobo's passive cooling system?

    I would like to go 500FSB with CellShock 1000 2x1GB 4-4-4-12 memory

There is a link with BIOS settings and guide for O/C regarding this mobo

    Thanks

Talking Scythe Ninja Rev B Fits p35c-ds3r

I installed it in my system,Scythe Ninja Rev B on p35-ds3r with e6750 on a p182 antec case. There is one spot where there is only 1 mm of clearance and that's with the heat sink on the north bridge. but if they ever touch the ninja will probably handle the heat being put out by the north bridge plus the cpu LOL

Also it is tricky routing the wires if you don't have a p182 case with this heat sink.
If it fits the p35c-ds3r it will fit the p35-ds3r and the ds3l for sure.
I know that picture at the top looks like it's touching the North Bridge but that my fault..camara couldn't focus well enough...it's got 1 mm clearance.
I wish there were more usefull information on this thread. like when is the next bios update coming. and what else are the changes on each bios since gigabyte doesn't give much detail.

later on i added two 120 mm antec fans, running them on low at 1100 rpm...very quiet. great temps. i would like to add another one in front of the bottom hard drive cage.

Honestly reading these 55 pages hoping i'll get to see anyone mention the temperatures isn't very promising. So i wonder if my P35-DS3R board is ok while having 43*C temperature(everest) and only 20*C room temperature.Even my cpu(E4400@3ghz) is going up to 41*C after 45 minutes orthos. The mobo temperature is the same while everything is set to default in bios and when overclocked.I put my finger on the northbridge and southbridge and they really have 40*C+.Ideas or is it normal?

Well, I said I'd post back as to how long my RMA took for my DS3R, and it was 14 working days.

Bought it brand new from the Egg. Asked the RMA guy what was wrong with the board, he said an internal switch was flipped (they fixed) and wondered if it was an open box item.

    That was a reassuring question

They finally let me in... Thank you!
I've read the most part of this thread and... it's only me or the P35-DQ6 is not such a great board after all? I think it is about time to draw a conclusion. I've been using this board (rev.1.0) for a month now and I must say that I am pretty satisfied with it, though there is a minor glitch that I'd like to mention. Therefore, I overclocked my E6750 to 3GHz and everything was rock stable. Then I tried 3.2GHz and it was also rock stable though the temps were pretty high. BUT... after reverting to the default settings (333x8) and overclocking again after a few days, I noticed that I can't adjust the FSB in 1MHz increments anymore (except the 333 default value), only in 2MHz increments. I mean even if it shows 375 in BIOS, for instance, it is in fact 374 during POST or as CPUZ shows, 377 is 376 and so on. This may not be such a big problem but it is nevertheless annoying and I wonder if there is a way to fix it. I tried pretty much everything, from resetting the BIOS to fail-safe defaults to rewritting the BIOS and even reinstalling my OS and still nothing. So I think there is no place better than this to get any more suggestions on how to fix this. And I mean really... If you, guys can't help me, I'll probably give up and forget about it. However, if this is something common with these boards and you have experienced the same weird behavior, then please let me know and I'll probably feel better. Oh... and could you post a link for the F6 bios for DQ6? I'd like to give it a try. Thank you!

I wouldn't bother that much with the system temps. Mine go up to 50 but everything I touch is not too hot (northbridge, RAM, ...).
As long as you don't have any hot spot, nevermind what tells you the sensor. Moreover these sensors are probably off several degrees ...

I reset the cmos using a jumper (I managed to find one). I started the system and got a new window with options, smth. like post error, and choose from 4 options, last known good, new..., I chose new. So the reset was accomplished but unfortunately nothing changed. The same $hit happens. I don't think that removing the battery will change this as long as the reset was accomplished succesfully with no result. Any more ideas?

Hehe... Maybe I'll do it when I clean my case, though you must admit that there is not much point in doing this. For now I'll leave the CPU and everything at stock speeds because I don't feel like OCing anymore. I mean I could do it but I know that smth. is not right and all the fun is gone. I bought this board after a month of reading lots of positive reviews on the net and I expected great stability and reliability from it but after this... I'll probably sell this board and buy smth. else. Who knows what might happen next. I just wonder how much one has to pay to get a reliable, stable and bug-free mobo?
Edit: zsamz how is your X38-DQ6? Or should I go for a DFI?

Later edit: Couldn't you guys just tell me that I should upgrade the BIOS to F6 ? I sent a mail to Gigabyte and they answered very promptly. They attached the F6 BIOS together with a flash utility. After upgrading, everything is back to normal to my astonishment. I mean I even reset the cmos and tore apart my system to find out which the problem was and the fix was so simple... However thank you for trying to help me.

Can you recommend me a good CPU coller to fit my P35-DQ6 without having to remove the backplate, please?

Hmmm... recommendations for cooler w/out removing the backplate...

That narrows your options down quite a bit.

Basically U are looking for one that uses the standard Intel 4pin (push-pin) setup...

Not much I can think off the top of my head cept for what I was using, TT Big Typhoon VX..

If u have a study of Anandtech's Coolers, U will see that the Typhoon VX can still hold it against the newer coolers but uses the standard push-pin setup...

Might also be a good idea to use Anandtech's guide to do a google search on the top coolers images etc to see if they can are using the push pin method.

Not much options U have left yourself when U wanna use that backplate.

What I did on my X38-DQ6 was take the backplate off, use platic standoffs for the NB cooler after I took that piece of garbage off & used Zalman (or AS5) on the NB/SB & then proceeded to install my Ultra Xtreme...
    Cheers,
    Minh
