    its gone a bit quiet on this thread whats your view on this board pinto i can see you have a few different boards , would you say the ddr3 maximus extreme will give more of a advantage over p35 as the x38 was really designed with ddr3 memory in mind

    thanks

    Stil struggling Got a strange problem and more users seem to have simular results. With me E6600 all the dividers work great. With the exact same settings and me G0 only 1/1 is stable. The system wont even boot with 4/5 or 2/3. I can use 5/6 and 3/4 but not as high as with E6600. I have tried disabling 2 cores but without luck. Have heard same things are happening with E6850 and Maximus Formula. Flashed to bios 0504 but stil the same.

    Memset PL works. 9x400 1/1 default is PL10:

    Memset to PL7 (lowest i could get for now):

    The Q66 clocks rather nice, too bad 467FSB seems to be the max on aircooling:

    1.55v bios;

    1.65v bios:

    Load calibration (vcore damper) stil doesnt work with the latest bios Bios set 1.35v and calibration enabled:

    thanks loco, that board seems to love the quad, and you know how to tweak the last ounce out of it , i am in 2 minds what to do now i don't know whether to plump for this board my current 975x board is stable at 4060mhz with my e6850 (its crap at overclocking a quad though) and it still performs well so to upgrade and warrant dismantling my rig i hoped for a bigger performance leap from the p35, or wait a month and see what the ddr3 one is like i think the maxfsb on this board is effected by temps as i have seen somewhere its like 60 degrees by default on the northbridge , i am not sure if thats right

    thanks loco

    I think id wait. Its strange not being able to use the ram. This is best i can do G0 & divider 5/6 although mem can do 625mhz cas 4 easy with only ~2.40v and E6600...

    It's either Asus or the UK but it is CRAZY expensive.

    First US sites just started listing it and haven't seen anything reaching $300, all below that, some of them are even under $270.

    Looks like it loves the quad, yes. DDR3 is prohibitively expensive as of today compared to DDR2 yet offers very little advantage, I think.

    Thing is, that in .pl they got only Maximus non SE...and i need SE
    Do you have a .pl link (or a couple) where the 'regulars' are sold online for a good price? (don't understand much of Polish..)
    Or, I'll trade you my SE for a regular

    Anyway, not a lot of testing so far, but FSB is limited by my E6850 at 552.8MHz (approx. same as on P5K & Commando):

    However I did find 2 oddities:

    - From BIOS setting 1.675Vcore (1.6V in hardware monitor, PLL on auto) the BIOS gives CPU overvolt errors...

    So max validation only @ 1.65Vcore (Hw monitor 1.584V - PLL auto = 1.712V - NB 1.696V):

    (Max validation for this chip on the Commando @ 1.7V was around 4380MHz)

    - At 5:6 I can't get the FSB on or past 500, nor the memory on or above 600.. If I put it on or above I get a guaranteed BSOD, & every time a different 1.
    So Max 5:6:

    Max OC screenable:

    24/7 - 1.475V (HW Monitor 1.464V - PLL auto = 1.648V - NB 1.47V)

    On a dutch e shop The Maximus Formula SE cost € 248,00.

    I am thinking of getting this board but I play the waiting game a bit longer to see other company's (DFI Abit) do there magic on this chipset.

    Is DDR3 a real advantage or just keep DDR2. Because DDR3 in a 4GB kit is really really expensive.

    * Default factory speed is for noobs.
    * Everything must go above the speed that the factory consider safe.
    * Everything for more performance
    * Everything fits, and everything can be broken.
    * Most problems can be fixed by adding a volt or two.
    * Post things in your signature that makes no sense at all.
