its probably a noob question, but here goes...

FSB Strap To North Bridge(Mhz) 333... is responsible for what?
and DRAM Frequency is this the setting for the strap that the board uses?
maybe others can help me get a grsp of things...

FSB Strap to NB = controls the timings the NB uses, lower Mhz = tighter timings 200 will be the fastest, then 266, 333 and so on....

And DRAM frequency is the speed at which your ram will be running given the current NB strap and divider (1:1, 2:3 etc)

choose 266 strap as it is a fair bit faster than 333

and as i said already ONLY increase voltage if required for stability

now a 3.4GHz Quad is a monster rig so i would try and have all voltages to their minimum values or closest to that

PLL does affect FSB but only when you start reaching limits....and not always 100% but it also affects the stress on the CPU as you've seen with higher temps....but such temp change is more than i thought heheh

try reducing vcore a little too...........you should be able to shave some more off

My point is that 500 fsb is the norm and these boards have gone above 600fsb.

No big deal I was just curious if I was missing something

At cpu-z, voltage drops to 1.05v, at asus probe and speedfan, voltage raises to 1.29v.

Is cpu-z seeing the wrong speed? How can I see at what speed the cpu is in real time - any other good program?

Using latest bios, 2x1GB Teamgroup Elite 667, LC Power 550w green, Ninja rev b, Vista Ultimate 32.

    Any thoughts?

At last someone with the same problem as me, I had just made a seperate thread about it here

Its definatly not a temp problem, its only in the late 40's before my chip switch back to x6 multi from x9 when priming. Its some problem with this 0603 bios and G0 quads.

Not sure what to do as I cant see another bios coming out any time soon I would have thought more people would have this problem though.

That's a weird problem lads, I always leave EIST off as I overclock and fold always when my PC is on and I was told to always turn off EIST when overclocking

Also I wouldn't trust CPU-Z for a correct value of CPU voltage, better go Everest or even Asus Probe though best thing still is a digitam multi meter....

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

anyone have a problem getting this board to push 4GB of mem over 1000Mhz?

It becomes very unstable over 1000Mhz with 4 x 1GB PC2-9600 modules...i did not have this problem with my 965 Commando.

Anybody knows if there are compatibility problems with Corsair CM2X1024-8500C5D rams?
If i install these rams the system doesn't boot.
    Thanks!

I do not know about Corsair, but I cannot get these f*cking Patriot 9600 modules stable on this board over 1000Mhz! I am trying everything and I cannot get my board stable.

There has to be a compatibility problem with my RAM and this board.

This P5K DLX is the WORST board I have ever owned and I regret buying this POS.

Chances are, there probably is if you are having trouble.

no prob, I use them set to 1150Mhz 2.15-2.2v on this board without any issue.

At least my Dominator version..., I think your corsair modules are incuded in this list ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5K%20Deluxe/P5K_Deluxe_WiFi-AP_QVL.pdf
