    DDR800 (1:1 divider) CL3-3-3-6:

    DDR1000 (4:5 divider) CL4-4-4-12

Tests done with sub-timings set to manual (but with stock subtimings, so pretty loose)
    Untweaked Win2K3

    Summary:

    CL3 1M: 20.047
    CL4 1M: 19.735

    CL3 8M: 3m49.547
    CL4 8M: 3m43.797

    DDR1000 CL4 is faster than DDR800 CL3

Thanks a ton for that SynGroW, really appreciate you taking the time to do that, would appear X38 isnt exactly like 975x where I was getting better speeds with cas3 800, over cas4 1000.

Guess that clears that up, cant wait to get my hands on a maximus.

EDIT: Any idea on the latency differences between the 2 settings?

Should be the same since I have put every setting on manual and at the SPD value for both runs. Only changed the first 4 settings.

It might be possible that the board changes some latency's because of running a different divider but I can't check that.

I am dying to see testing of the air-cooled version of this board vs. P5K Premium

    Ok, some first tests:

CPU vcore is undervolted by ~0,05v (difference between bios setting and CPUz)
DRAM voltage is overvolted by ~0,1v (difference between bios setting and bios monitoring)
vPLL voltage is overvolting by ~0,1v (difference between bios setting and bios monitoring)

Also vcore is dropping by 0,015v under load with load line calibration enabled according to CPUz.

Will check these results later with a DMM.

    Now some overclocking:

    Setup:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 ES cooled by OCZ Vindicator
    Asus Maximus Formula
    OCZ DDR2 PC2-9200 FlexXLC
    Asus 8600GT Silent
    OCZ Powerstream 520W

    Max. FSB @ vPLL 2.3v

550MHz increasing vPLL increases max. FSB, so this result is CPU limited (validator link)

    Max. mem @ 2.7v

    700MHz CL5-6-6-21 (validator link)

It seems that the memory isn't running as great as it did on my P5K. I can run 1m at the same speed on my P5K with only 2.55v (bios setting) but with different subtimings.

    Also a 1M run:

14.640s this run is also vPLL limited (forgot to make a validation file, will do that next time)
    | Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 5304MHz | Biostar TForce P965 Dlx | XFX 7800GT | 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC5300 CL3 |

The time is very bad for this frequency, can you run memset, i would like to see the subtimings for this setup.

    Pippuzzo...che stai dicendo...ha una E6300...non un E6600 con 4mb di cache L2!
    Il tempo va bene!

Stil nothing spectaculair unfortunately. Have been struggling all night to get me Cellshock to run on 2/3 divider without luck. Im missing something The Q6600 (L731B163) seems to do rather nice on air though. Ill try another set of mem tonight and/or put in a dual core. Crossfire soon, this is single card all air:

It's an e6300 though it does seem somewhat slow...

does this use the jmicron controller for IDE
does it add an extra boot screen so it can detect the drives?
