    ASUS Maximus Formula SE

Got a nice package today Thanks Asus & HWI. Results tonight after work.

Bios 0504 seems to have some issues, the dividers for sure. If you are having probs try 0401 again

*Update 12-02-2007* Thread becomes rather long. OP should have been updated a long time ago, sorry for that.

-Check Asus website for bios updates regarding ASUS Maximus Formula and ASUS Maximus Formula SE. Remember there are not removable bios chips for these boards. You use any bios on this forum at your own risk!
-You get better N/S Bridge temps when you remove the factory TIM and apply AS5 Ceramic.
-When updating from one bios to another RESET YOUR CURRENT BIOS TO STOCK, NONE OC SETTINGS BEFORE FLASHING
-If the fusion water block on the chipset doesn't come off you can use a hair dryer to heat it. Or, you can cool the MB in the frig for a few hours in to chill the thermal compound. Either suggestion can damage your MB, you do this at your own risk!
-If you water cool the NB (SE version) it's best to use plastic clamps or worm drive, from Anandtech

-The black PCIe x1 port is proprietary for the included sound card
-Yes, there is a 1.03G out there http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=806
-It maybe worth the time to put a small 40mm fan on the s/b heatsink
-P5E is an excellent board if you are not looking for the features of the Maximus Formula
-Ultra 120 Extreme and clearance from the South Bridge heat sink using a 8800 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=920
-SE has option for 3 thermal sensors however you have to buy the thermal sensor cable separate
    -Use a 8-pin 12V connector
-In order to get charted voltage results using OCCT, start Everest and go to:
    -Preferences
    -External Applications:
Enable shared memory must be checked

The holes in the PCB will be that is compatible with a swiftech mcx 159?

This in the zone of the NB.

Like this looks that this heatpipe stayed of outside.

Whats the product code of the SE version?

    I think I rather have the non-watercooled NB-sink, even though I got a wc-ed rig.

For now non-SE edition is not yet available. My source tell me it will be available by end of this month. But simultaneously SE version will be phased out.

So how would this work without connecting the waterblock? I'm rather hesitant to connect an Asus made waterblock into my higher-end watercooling setup. Are these blocks known to be restrictive?

NOW I really hate you guys, I'm going to need the addresses of all 10 people ASAP! Time for some breaking and entering and armed robbery lol.

If you guys can take some more pictures of what's all included in the box (accessories including the fitting sizes) and it's Quad Core overclocking abilities, I will cancel my flight to Netherlands to rob you guys

Hmmm, don't know about x38 chipset with DDR2.

This chipset really starts to shine if one can use it in conjunction with DDR3 but perhaps these 10 dutch golddiggers can prove me wrong.
