Picked up a G0 Q6600 today. L727B248... Any idea what I could expect of it? I'm not gonna bother trying it in my P5W. Waiting 'till the rest of the X38 boards are out. Will probably end up with a P5E or a Maximus Formula.

If it is even possible to make an estimate...

When I compare your CPU's FPO to the FPO's listed in OC Database, it seems like you have a CPU from a pretty new batch. So according to me it is pretty hard to make any estimate about what to expect.

    Plug it in, and go

But statistics and estimates never have been my best subject, and I am pretty new to overclocking. So my opinion is probably worthless

I'd expect at least 3.6Ghz our of it. L727B's are a decent batch.

Nobody's cpu is going to die, relax. You can look at processor specs here. I myself think that 1.5v rating is a bit conservative as long as temps are kept at reasonable levels.

Really??? Been running mine @ 1.45v for quite some time now.... chuggin along just fine. It's 'rated' for 1.35v max. Keep in mind Intel probably set that at a very conservative level to keep the temps and the RMA's down.

1.45v is peachy unless u get crazy temps.
