I'm looking at Everest here and I see 5 CPU temps. The 4 cores and a separate "CPU temp" which reports about 15-20 C lower than the die temps. It'll say 36 C while the cores are a bit over 50 C.

What exactly is that reading? It changes very quickly between idle and load temps, so it's not an external thermistor. It must be something on the CPU.
