Nvidia D8E (9800/8900) pushed till 2008? [FUD WARNING]

According to Fuad, D8E (which is the new codename apparently for the next generation of high end from Nvidia) will be pushed into 2008. Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't BenchZowner and a variety of other sources said November 2007?

Heck, even Nvidia mentioned Q4 of 2007 for their "1 TFlop beast," so I'm guessing Fuad is just plain wrong.

Well to me it doesn't sound totally impossible since 8800 series is doing so well still and I'm sure NVIDIA wants to milk it as much as possible b4 releasing next highend series. Of course all these talk about a November launch makes me highly suspicious about this fud article though.

I just wonder how on earth Fuad gets away with contradicting what Nvidia told it's investors. I suppose it isn't out of the realm of possibility that they delayed it into the next year, but I would have thought getting the card out when big titles like Crysis are released would be important....

Releasing their new lineup late Nov. will generate a lot of income, on both fronts; their new and old generation cards. G98 is release in time for the holiday season, which means 8800s drop in price = lots of income.

Other reports are saying that G92 and G98 will be released in November, but not the G90 high end chip. This makes sense to me. Release a strong mid range card just before the holidays and cash in. Mid range cards have a MUCH higher volume than a new top of the line card would.

WHat a company promises to investors in May of a year doesn't mean they can't delay it for other reasons if necessary

If it does turn out to be true... It's all likely due to the lack of competition from ATI. They might as well continue to reap the profits from the current generation rather than obsolete it prematurely... it's just good business sense to not cannibalize yourself if you can help it.

The G92/98 are cost reduced versions that will drive even more profit into nVidia's coffers... it's best if they don't entice customers into thinking of buying a next gen product when they can reap tons of margin from an existing gen product that really has no competition.

Investors will like that even more!

Typical typo-laden 3 sentence "article" from Fuad.

He seems to be saying "mainstream" and "value" in November, "enthusiast" in January-ish timeframe.

But he calls the D8E codename both "mainstream" & "enthusiast" !! Sloppy as ever.

They print so much "news" they're bound to get something right eventually .
I do find it somewhat entertaining though, it stirs up senses of "what if", makes they hardware scene a little more interesting.

there has been rummers about the x38 being broken and the phenom dosnt come out till december so i dont seee why they would bust out the pci-e2 card a month or 2 before u could get a pci-e2 board (i think that its backwards computable but thats not my point)

Normally me too. But methinks Fuad stumbled to the same conclusions many of us have had for a while now.

Hang about, think someone is full on taking Fuad for a ride? If it was spoken to him...

    D8E = G80

    Say it...

    Coincidence? D9T anyone?
