NO! If you want to cool everything independently you're either going to have to cut it free from the rest of the Heat Pipe Assembly or go after market cooling around the board.

I believe that Thermalright has a PWM solution for the D.F.I P35

I am impressed with the build quality on the DFI P35 & hope for my sake you just got a duff board & we are not starting to see a trend here like the ICFX & 680i with there C1 & 88 errors.

Edit: Its funny you mention your P4 I just pulled my old DFI 875P-T out of the loft yesterday ok its socket 775 but ill PI race you if you like LOL.
I will agree with you on that Craig Abit IP35 Pro has definitely opened my eyes to Abit its really just a excellent board and the support for the board is very good unlike the dficlub which quite honestly is a friggin joke these days no disrespect intended towards Robert (Rgone) or any of the other fellas there for that matter but no one even goes there anymore which equates into problems for D.F.I Inc considering the complexity of the Bios on their boards it needs full time addressing even for skilled overclockers!

I think D.F.I better pull their act together with this whole support thing because if they don't me thinks they are finished

Re : Lack of action at DFiClub Maybe we all need to start posting there ourselves and not wait for "others" to do so. I am guilty of just going and looking each day and not posting anything there at all. But I am such a novice at overclocking that I do not feel I have anything constructive to offer at this stage.

Back on topic - new bios and the P35 Lanparty. Andre it has made a huge difference to me from a benching perspective - the bios has made it more stable to bench (on air) at 4.1Ghz. Thank you very very much.

Personally I am finding it very challenging (but enjoyable) trying to figure out this mobo, but I would like a more detailed (technical) explanation of what all the myriad bios settings do or are - as well as the relationship between them. I worked out mathematically that to physically test each setting that is available in the current bios would take over 1256 reboots and that is just individual settings not how they interact to and with each other. Total number of permutations is 1575 K plus.

Its not that people won't go there and post its more like D.F.I has just recently brought something to the table late yes but not even any where near as late as the 680i was and thats probably the story in a nut shell.

So here we are with this stellar board they just released and hardly anyone is even using it! As very limited as my use of the board was before it crapped out 2hrs later.....lol....(not really funny) all I can ascertain is that there is a plethora of very involved Bios settings which are completely uncommon to Intel boards and next to no user base to decipher them in a timely fashion.

Only real time consuming part is clock fine delay values for me. 8/23 bios make it much easier to work with though. I just which 5:8 divider would work properly heh

More memory tests this time focusing on performance in terms of Super Pi 32M efficiency at around 3800-3850Mhz range.

    First, here is a 32M run @3800Mhz with 2x1GB OCZ PC3-14400 Platinum @8x475FSB 1:2 950mhz 7-7-7-18 resulting in 12m 33.281s completion time. Yes used Q6600 G0 retail cpu on DDR3 system so probably not 100% comparable.

Now here's DFI LP UT P35-T2R comparison with 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 @9x475FSB 5:6 570mhz 4-4-4-9 bios boot as well as a 2nd run with windows memset tweaked timings.

    Bios booted 32M run

    Memset tweaked 32M run

    DFI LP UT P35-T2R

Used setFSB to bump FSB from 475FSB to 481FSB leaving Memset tweaked stetings in place.

I didn't know that DFI sells the heatsink separately.

testing 8/10 - 8/23 and 9/13 bios' under ln2 this weekend it became clear that the 8/23 is by far the best allowing almost 200mhz greater final core speed...

With vdroop control enabled/disabled, depending on bios the vdroop is pretty much taken care of.

On that note, with the latest bios 9/13 has the vdroop control option been corrected?

This thread is such a valuable resource: I have yet to open the box--still messing with the Infiinity to get my head back into DFI--but I feel like I have gained some insight.

probably 1.4-1.53v with fan maybe up to 1.57v for 24/7 benching up to 1.8v hehe

got my board up and running yesterday, the bios is feature full in every direction, though the auto presets are the closest I've ever seen to maxing out each scenario without need for massive user intervention if one is not inclined for it. Just experimenting on nailing down the Read Delay Phase shift settings and fully nailing the More aggressive clock options to get access latency down lower than the 975, so far so good...

DFI have a support forum http://www.csd.dficlub.org/forum/

No need to bash Travis he no longer works for DFI so you don't have to visit his forum for DFI support

Hey, Tony whats up? Its not the dficlub or anyone on the forum for that matter Tony its the lack of the user and member base. Like I said I mean no disrespect to DFI or anyone on that forum when I said what I did but the fact remains the same DFI really does need to regain the huge member base and following and popularity at dficlub that they had with DFI-STREET.

Travis.....yea don't even approach me to elaborate on that subject because its only going to turn sour with me and get me very upset and pissed off in a hurry!
