HP Unveils First Collaboration with Voodoo PC

    http://www.dailytech.com/HP+Unveils+...rticle8691.htm

    Video review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52LuA...Ddna%2Ddesktop

HP's new Blackbird 002 is the result of the a year's worth of collaboration with Voodoo PC
The new Blackbird 002 chassis features a completely aluminum chassis sporting a wedge-shaped design. HP’s Blackbird 002 features a hover design, where the chassis sits on a cast aluminum stand for a hovering look. The cast aluminum stand raises the chassis off the ground to provide airflow to the system’s 1100 Watt power supply mounted at the bottom of the chassis. The stand can also support up to 600 pounds, allowing users to stand on the system or set a couple concrete blocks on it.

HP touts the Blackbird 002’s superior thermal capabilities. The Blackbird 002 features a sealed, maintenance free water-cooling system. The water-cooling system cools the processor and graphics cards while keeping the system quiet. HP also touts the chassis’ isolated design, keeping every component chamber isolated and preventing hot air from contaminating the cool air stream.

The chassis also features a completely tool-less design, allowing owners to remove or replace all components without the needs of any tools. HP equips the Blackbird 002 with plenty of lighting. The chassis features accent and task lighting, according to Mark Solomon, lead designer, HP Gaming. Accent lighting highlights certain aspects of the Blackbird 002 such as the stand and front grille while task lighting highlights helpful portions of the case such as the chassis interior and rear ports.

Humm I'm sure were gonna be hearing about HP buying Voodoo PC sometime in this or next year.
Just mmmmmmmmust do whatever Dell does...

ps: case looks cool however them graphics on the side are lame, makes it look like a giant mousepad, one of them you get for free when you buy... say... a HP pc

    Okay, so let me see...

    We have:

    FSP power supply (junk)
    Striker Extreme motherboard (overpriced)
    Corsair dominator ram (overpriced)
CoolIT cooling system with probably two loud fans (which cools for garbage)

Wow, way to go. What a waste of perfectly good $

    Lets try this again-

    Nvidia reference board
Crucial Ballistix 8500 or lots of other ram that costs 1/2 as much yet performs just as well.
A vast selection of air cooled heatsinks that do a far better job, while making less noise
As for power supply, pick something Zippy/Sesonic/Etasis/etc...

Come on HP, you even use ZIPPY PSU's in your servers... ever thought why?

I got really angry at a friend of mine who had a PC which I build him back in the Radeon 9800 days which lasted him 5 years, cause suddenly he decided that his new pc would be from Dell.
He would buy this in a blink of an eye.

Im also sure he would LOVE the graphics on the side, anyone who would buy this would love that part too.

Just like Alienware and Falcon Northwest, this is for n00bs.
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

Aesthetically pleasing, but nearly anyone with know-how has better ways to spend their hardware budgets for top-tier components and builds.

Since when exactly are FSP power supplies "junk"?

You gotta hand it to Dell and HP. I think it's extremely bold to offer a water cooled system with a warranty. I would hate to work in the RMA dept.

I was thinking the same thing.

irev contradicts himself with a few things he says so i probably wouldn't take that post too seriously

i think you guys are also forgetting that this type of product is not geared towards everyone and if you for a moment think about the possible market segment you will realise that the choice of hardware used is more than justified IMO

Signs of innovation and ingenuity, but parts are needlessly expensive and cooling is second tier.
    3570K ● Asus V Gene ● 8GB Mushkin DDR3-2133 ● EVGA 660 Ti SC ● Seasonic X750 ● 128GB Samsung 830 SSD & External 1TB RAID1

SupremeFX SPDIF -> MHDT Constantine DAC -> Darkvoice 336i Tube Amplifier -> AKG K701

second tier cooling running an overclocked quad at 3.67Ghz

i don't know about you but that company has been around for a little while HP and Astek so it's not like they went for a yumcha solution here

i've always been a fan of HP and everytime i'd open up any of their business PC boxes in past i thought wow these guys kick arse.....they have great attention to detail in design and usually put together and thoroughly test their gear according to purpose used

tell me Kobalt if you fit the market of a US$6000 PC which i doubt you do considering you are raising a price issue as first idea would you not want the best gear in the system. I am talking about the motherboard, RAM, CPU, GFX cards, even PSU and cooling...everything is pretty good.....I can understand you complaining about cooling not being all water for example and using a higher end solution there but to say outright it's needlessly expensive hardware components for top of the range gaming PC i am really surprised

this is not a budget system :S
