So, the G92 is not as good as 8800GTS?

I say the reports from China are BS.

unless it was as rumored, G92, G98 are mid-level chips and G90 is high end.

Sounds like 80nm, judging by the frequency / number of stream processors / TDP, wich is a little weird IMO.
Considering Nvidia's naming scheme, policy, and current market situation, i'd say there is a G90 waiting to be released around the beginning of december, on 80nm but not much faster than current performance leader 8800Ultra.

Those same specs were echoed by HKEPC (Hong Kong source, the same guys who gave us the Intel price cut data) and Digitimes (a Taiwan source). Given that Nvidia has plants and development in Taiwan and China (not to mention that TSMC is from Taiwan), the sources are probably closer to truth than Fud

9700 seems low with a quad unless the GPU is way slower than my GTS. Guess we will have to wait for some more reliable info

Not impressed... with these specs, they should at least price it lower, as this
    is almost 8800GTS-territory.

BenchZowner, surely you mean that in two months, a new high-end model
will be revealed, right? 'Cause I find it hard to believe that these will be
surprising. I don't expect them to be anywhere near to 8800GTS even with
    heavy oc.

Notice how they aren't talking about the G90...at all, but focus on the G92 and G98 which I believe ARE LOW end. Those cards aren't capable of being a 1Tflop beast - G90 probably is!

Of course, because the 8800GTX and Ultra is crap. I mean, what other reason would you have for trying to get rid of them?

BenchZowner> when does NDA end? Gets annoying when you keep pestering us with your hehe-I-have-a-G92-sitting-right-here-and-its-shiny comments in every G92 thread. But yea that's good if faster cards also arrive then but to me I wouldn't mind a mid to high range card either as it seems if a card would be released as above it would be a good bang-for-the-buck card and hopefully very overclockable and the price range is what I'm interested in.

digitimes isn't as accurate as they pretend to be. take what they say with a grain of salt.

I'm not NDA bound directly, so the NDA end date isn't exactly something that bothers me ( at least currently )

Depending on how things turn out in the following weeks, I may release some nice stuff by the time October arrives

Well... I'm about to sell my 8800GTS and buy a GTX or Ultra, because of the next coming games, like Airborne, Crysis, COD4... I was also expecting that nVidia would launch a new high-end in November or a GTS upgrade something like that.

If that is the case then i don't mind to wait a bit more, but this rumors all around just make me more confuse.

I don't know what to do, I'm tired of this rumors (B#"&$Hit)...

Well, up to that it'd still be a good purchase.
Unless you're more interested in benchmarking than gaming.
A GTX will last ok for 'reasonable' gaming ( 1680x1050 4xAA 16xAF ) for more than a while.

Taking benchmarking out of the question, and speaking as a gamer ( well, at least the gaming part of me ) I can't remember having the same graphics card in my gaming rig for such a 'big' period.
After all, the 8800GTX was a great purchase from all views, truthfully.
