    Cool E6850 L723A347 @4704+ Mhz + Asus Commando 1501

    Took some effort to get the E6850 to even boot on Asus Commando as 1404 bios strangely didn't recognise my E6850. Had to flash to 1501 bios to get the E6850 L723A347 up and running

    System
    • E6850 L723A347
    • Kayl Black FrozenSS 1/4HP
    • Asus Commando 1501 bios flashed from 1404 bios
    • 256MB BFG 7800GTX stock hsf
    • 2x1GB Team 6400C3 Micron D9GMH cooled by 3x 60x25mm Sunon 23.5cfm Maglev fans
    • 160GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA
    • Pioneer DVR-08 Burner
    • Sony FDD
    • 620W Corsair HX620 Modular PSU
    • WinXP Pro SP2

    Don't have much time lately, so jumped straight in. Max FSB boot was around 570FSB but unstable. So started with lower 560FSB.

    4005Mhz at 1.376v

    4104Mhz at 1.416v

    4707Mhz at 1.680v

    4728Mhz at 1.656v

    Both cores enabled with around -36.8C evap load for super pi 32M. Probably have 100mhz more headroom with more vcore and/or disabling one core

    Jammy get! My board topped out at 528FSB under Dice..I was lookin sweet-as until then.

    Straight to 4700..530x9 was a no-go, backed off until it would boot, and stayed at that Freq all day. Crashed ONCE, due to not enough juice (1.65-1.70V)

    Thanks guys actually I wonder if my other E6850 L723A347 would do better on sub zero cooling ??

    E6850 above with VID 1.3375v max FSB on water = 530FSB but max 32M at 1.632v on water = 4104Mhz and no vcore higher or single core would clock it higher.

    But

    E6850 #2 with VID 1.325v = max FSB on water is 487FSB but at max 32M on water was 4266Mhz at 1.712v so it scaled with volts. Wonder how this one will do on sub zero

    Some wPrime v1.51 action @4680Mhz and @4703Mhz at 1.688v

    @4680Mhz at 1.696v

    @4703Mhz at 1.688v

    Thanks very nice cpu to be 3dmark benchable easily @4608Mhz on 1/4HP SS

    Some 3dmarks with single 256MB BFG 7800GTX stock hsf video card

    Had to run them all in same windows session part from AM3 due to the x1 PCI-E bus bug coming up nearly all the time. So when i managed to get bus to be normal at x16 with 9x500FSB boot up and setFSB to desired FSB, I went for the full lot of benchmarks.

    All benchmarks @501(552)/1377 clocks except AM3 @501(552)/1386.

    Thanks!

    Inspired by dinos' recent 4GB DDR3 Pi runs, I decided to try out 4x1GB Micron D9 config on Asus Commando.

    2x1GB OCZ PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2
    +
    2x1GB Team 6400C3 Micron D9GMH

    System
    • E6850 L723A347
    • Kayl Black FrozenSS 1/4HP
    • Asus Commando 1501 bios flashed from 1404 bios
    • 256MB BFG 7800GTX stock hsf
    • 2x1GB OCZ PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 +
    • 2x1GB Team 6400C3 Micron D9GMH cooled - all ram cooled by 3x 60x25mm Sunon 23.5cfm Maglev fans
    • 160GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA
    • Pioneer DVR-08 Burner
    • Sony FDD
    • 620W Corsair HX620 Modular PSU
    • WinXP Pro SP2

    Note all runs are only using 1:1 divider

    9x400FSB 4-4-4-5

    1M = 13.968s
    32M = 13m 50.922s

    8x500FSB 4-4-4-5

    1M = 12.531s
    32M = 12m 12.859s

    9x524FSB 4-4-4-5

    32M = 10m 37.454s (new personal best shaving 4.499 seconds of my previous time at same 9x524FSB 4-4-4-5 overclock)

    9x526FSB 4-4-4-5

    1M = 10.609s (new 1M personal best)
    Hexus Pifast = 19.88s
