Good: improved slot layout (compared to other anus boards)
Bad: even with the first x16 lower, it still gets in the way of the RAM latches;
lots of heatpipes;
cramped CPU area
Thanks for posting it, at least I know I'll not be wanting one.

I like the I/O panel and how the IDE and SATA are setup. I'm glad to see the mouse PS/2, serial port and parallel port are history. The more USB ports the better.
seems like a ln2 pot and phase change hell.
think geminii doesnt fit as well?
Sweet, just wondering if my mach2 will fit with all those caps so close to the socket.

looks pretty nice compared to other asus boards
too bad asus sticked to using the stock intel layout around the socket (caps about 1mm form socket edges)
This is nog really good for dice/ln2
I"d feel sorry for all the guys with a big typhoon. Try getting your hand down there and screwing in those little nuts to secure the hsf. lol. that would be pure hell.

I simply don't like it.
-PCI slot is not placed were I like it
-I still prefer both mouse/keyboard ports
-wb/hs installation maybe a pain
-not sure if that red ide is for regular ide or raid setup
-sata placement is awkward for my setup
However:
-they finally moved the battery to a location easily accessible

Now...how does it clock? :p

Liked the colour
Improved PCI-E 16x location
nice voltage options
Dont like those metal plates on north and south bridges heatspreaders.
4 pin location is in the bad place again

You think they would lay off the heatpipes.
And as others have said, this board does NOT support LN2 very well at all. It has one of the most cramped socket areas I've seen in a while.
Just submerge the entire board in LN2 :p
That's going to be a PITA to insulate.
I cant see how the Asus silver plate on top of the cobber is going to help the cooling.
I mean, having your company name on the product is fine. But nerfing the cooling while doing it, is not.
Wel sadly enough these mosfets/components are getting pretty hot so i'm actually glad they provide so much copper...
8 x USB + dual GBit-Ethernet *hooray* who needs LPT nowadays anyway? not me
finally a trend I can welcome ^^ the Heatpipe doesn't matter for me because I gonna watercool my mobo anyway![]()

Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks
thats to bad. i am disappointed in this board and i had high hopes for it.
1. Way to many large heat pipes limits your air cooling and extreme cooling options and is hard to work with. why can't they just use flipin fans!!!! they work better then heatpipe crap and are way smaller. and just put small ram sink type sinks on the power regulators and vrms.
2. bad slot layout (only 2 PCI)
3. way to much stuff in the CPU area
4. bad power connector layout (bad 8pin placement)
