I agree, msi best for quad xfire, and supposedly the driver is finally starting to come along to work pretty well, but if the asus 790 board is as big of an improvement over the 590sli (I have a crosshair that is actually quite good) as their p35s were over their p965 boards, then I think that would be the winner as it looks better imo and not that many people either have the dough for say 4 r670s which supposedly will have more power than the 8800ultra or at least 4 r600s/rv670s

I love that asus bord... as allways Asus making good use of copper with lots of passive cooling...

When will the Asus one be realsed??, rumours say before x38... but i see in overclockers u can preorder one x38 bord type allready!

2 x 2900XT 1Gb edtions would be great in that mobo esp since Amd make them hehe

i like the dfi layout. two useable pci slots is ideal, cause i mean, unfortunately its not very realistic that pci-e cards will really become widely used in the lifetime of the board.

I'd say that the DFI would have my vote. 2x X3950XTX's in Crossfire, and an X3800XT for physics... all on watercooling... .

    GPU Loop: MCP655 > MCW-60 > PA160 (1x YL D12SH) > ST Res > BIP 220 (2x YL D12SH) >Pump

    I really like the layout
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

    LoL!
I like how tiny are the two bridges of the RD790. Hope it will be cool enough, not to worry much for the cooling.

    I hope so too!
RD790 supposedly is manufactured at 65nm which is looking good in that regard...

BTW I like DFI and MSI layouts (DFI slightly better).

Can't wait for these babies in retail...

only barcelona is, the rest of the phenom and single socket opterons are am2+, though I personally would have preffered to see am2 be pinless from the start, I don't know how many pins I've been trying to remove my ihs and finally one broke off in the socket. I don't know what the pin is for, but I've left it there just to be safe, so pinless would definitely be nice

dose that asus board have heatpipes that go to the ram sockets with copper around them, and on amd i think that pinles would be bad since the mb is generally more than the chip since amd focuses on pricing a good chip really low priced with a low but ocable clock, but i guess that its easier to break a cpu pin than a mb pin

well the pins have to be on the CPU or the Board, take your pick (that isn't pinless)
also separate Socket AM2 and Socket F

believe it or not i am excited. - that msi heatsink is horny & the asus copper does look chunky.

[is it time to sell my 4300/p5k yet? ]

Dfi need to put some heatsinks on their board

something tells me these will be expensive

Wonder what sound solution DFI is going to use i don't see the Header for the Karajan audio module.

MSI has a good looking board but DFI or Abit will get my money.

Oh would like to see amd redesign the socket bracket we have had numorius tabs break off about 3-6 months into the build. Stupid 1 TAB.

Actually not quite, the rd790 boards supposedly are going to be dirt cheap like the 580 series boards, so you actually may be able to get a high quality board for at most $150
