    New P4 stepping ??

Had a quick look at the Intel site nd it appears that there are two new P4 types listed.....

Core stepping for them id M0, not D1, and the cpuid is 0F25.

The 2.4C/800 is listed as SL6Z3
    2.6C/800 is listed as SL6Z4

Does anyone have one of these yet ??

Interesting. Those steppings are not listed on Intel's Spec Finder page.

Does somebody know anything about the new 2,6C SL6WS? Ordered one C30469-004 recently but i haven't got the chance to lay my hands on it yet.

The SL6Z3 model of 2.4C P4 seems to be different from the other 2.4Cs. For instance it has a lot more capacitors on the backside of the CPU and the CPU steppin ID is 5 (it was 9 on my old 2.4C)

gotta see if its a good clocker

actually it's like a rebagged P4EE (maybe one where the L3 cache failed)

Any word of the 2.6 yet?

Is the SL6WS and SL6WH new 2.6 ones also?

Or is it just the SL6Zx ones?

well, i'm quite impressed by this chip, it's soooo much better than my other 2.4c.

i got up to 3.55ghz (295fsb) with stock voltage and that was stable, but it took 1.725v to get up to 3.6ghz stable

i think the reason for this was how much my board undervolts when under load...i have it at 1.725v in the bios, but that is overvolted to 1.744v at idle, then it drops to 1.616v under load (i have it in my p4c800-e not my ic7). oh well, i'm happy

also anything over 300fsb, my computer slows down to a crawl once i'm in windows and it crashes (explorer uses 50% of the cpu until the crash) but at 300fsb its prime stable...i also heard ATi cards don't like fsb over 300, could this be the reason?

I was this fact alone that made me decide to NOT grab this chip. I think my theory has been proven that these chips are actually 3.2 P4EE that did not make the requirements, so they got binned as 2.4. This can be seen with the easy OC to 3.5 with default volts but then the huge increase needed to get just another measly 100mhz.

I assume u mean default volts in bios so that drops to ~1.45load (based on your 1.725 drop) and then you say you need 1.725bios which is 1.61load so there is a .15 increase in vcore to just get 100mhz

Nice chips, but imo not as *great* as everyone is making them out to be

Dont flame me, this is my opinion, Im not disrespecting you PureBooYah, just commenting on the stepping chip you have

    my reply from the H...

oh i totally agree with you, and yes my vcore drops to 1.45v underload when i have it set to default . and this is a good chip, but a great chip would do 300fsb+ w/stock voltage...i wouldn't flame, i agree, but i'm just happy to hit the 300fsb mark.
