Since I posted a 3.7ghz G0 that was prime 95 stable for 1 hour, here we go, 8 hours prime stable and under 65*C (15 degree correction for speedfan):

    3.8ghz will be next.

problem here is you put to much weight on orthos or prime 95 as an accurate testing program to prove "WHAT"!...that your system can hack anything...no way, senor!...it does not do that...many users say, "but, i was prime stable but i can't play my game or i can't fold!"...get off the horse and come down to earth...stable, is what you do that does not cause any BSOD, freezes, random reboots, programs or games that automatically close out on you....if you meet those conditions, you do not have to say that i am prime or orthos stable....AND, everest, gives me those conditions!

Now to push my Q6600 L725A903 until it screams a little bit

    • Max cpuz validation = 4145Mhz at 1.616v
    • Max wprime 32M = 4130Mhz at 1.616v rebooted after submission to hwbot LOL
    • Max wprime 1024M = 4095Mhz at 1.616v
    • Max Super Pi 32M = 4095Mhz at 1.616v so far
    • Max Cinebench R10 = 4095Mhz at 1.616v so far

Beat my previous Q6600 B3 ES best 32M time by ~10 seconds http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=632775!

What are you guys getting for FSB. So far the highest I'm able to get is 480FSB, I wanted 500FSB but oh well.

What cooling is that and can you also post a pict of Coretemp?

Mine is hitting in the 70's with just 1.43 and at 3.6ghz with a AC vent blowing directly over a bench setup and using a V1 cooler and a high powered floor flan blowing pushing against the v1 intake and blowing across the mobo.

For the most part if your system can pass prime95 blend for 8+ hours then you can consider it stable. I actually am very much down to earth. I follow up prime with 3dmarks to verify 3d stable as well.

People that post saying prime95 is not a good indicator of stability seem to be people that can't pass it.

    Angry

Got myself stuck at the 400FSB mark. 392 is stable. Tested 394 and got to run a bench. but cant seem to go higher. Tried skipping the 395-410 but still no go. Upped voltages for core, chipset etc. Slacked mem timings. Upped pci to 120. Cant remember how i got over this prob with my core duo last november. Getting pissed off now ggrrr. Wanted to be able to get 3.6Ghz= like most ppl. Im on a Asus P5B deluxe wifi.

EDIT: Thought "what the hell!" pumped more volts into it and booted to windows. 3.62Ghz but single orthos failed within minutes, that was using 1.5125v in bios, which is prob about 1.45v loaded. Temps were fine still, but not wanted to try more volts yet in this warm weather and with chip being new. Looks like i got another "average" chip *sigh* I hate relying on luck or paying premium prices to get decent chips ARGH! Suppose 3.5Ghz 24/7 aint bad.

small ffts. 3.9ghz on my rig will pass with blend for 3 1/2 hrs, but not pass small ffts for 10 mins.

    Nice clocks eva.
    L726A850. Pack Date 08/14/07
Guess this is nothing special for this chip but I wanted to get the lowest vcore possible @3.6 Ghz. I think 1.4150 set in Bios and 1.3840 under large FFT load will do me just fine as I want this machine for Folding @Home which I don't believe will stress it this hard. Runs 8 -10 deg cooler than my Q6600 B3 chip at the same clock. Haven't tried any higher clocks yet.

you might be down the earth as you say but you are locked on to orthos or prime stable like a missle would be locked on to its target...doesn't know anything but the target...can't think on its own or outside of the box...you've been pre-programed like a robot saying/doing the same thing over and over....you might be closer to being like "HAL" from the movie, "2001 space odyssey"...LOL
