Firelight my screeny i posted the otherday was done on my Vapochill Xe2 holds less temps than my Lightspeed..I have sold my lightspeed and another Vapo unit to Partly Fund my Quad Killer 3/4Hp unit...Im hoping for more stable Overclocks once this arrives.

well at 1.55 how long did you let orthos run for to substain -33 evap head temps..At those vcore settings/Oc my Ls lasted about 3 minutes and it was shutdown time...Yet at 3600Mhz it ran for over 1 hour ok...

you obviously went the new compressor with your mod or standered vapo Danfoss model still ??

I have done lots benchmarking last few weeks outside in the cold..one thing for sure you can hold a load alot longer if you take lid of and get good size fan forcing air through condensor....this is how i did the 4ghz screenshot with wprime i think it was..i would of had No hope inside house with no airflow or coldness....

So thats a nice overclock you got.

    Cheers Hori

It will cost less just to get a quad gO stepping and use an unmodded LS for a better result.

i realy like vapochill ls EVAP and monting kit too, i like it very mutch, to make an vapochill ls work good, change compressor, if you want it perfect, add another condensor or change that one for a bigger

Easy and cheapest mod for the VapoLS.

    1. add a DSH coil to the condensor. A new condensor is a better idea, but I've modded in a decent coil and it's worked.

    2. Strip back the insulation, and soft solder the captube to the accumulator. It's already wound nicely on the LS, and the accumulator is quite large.

    3. Take about 12" off the captube length, and replace the dryer.

This, along with your gas of choice, will give larger capacity both from the coil (as long as you place it in direct airflow) and the shortened captube. Soldering the captube to the accumulator will enhance the heat transfer to the accumulator and allow for heavier charging without a great risk of floodback. I don't recommend trying the mod without at least soldering the captube to the accumulator.

I attached a picture of a coil, though you may want it smaller for an LS. Always ensure there is enough space between coils for adequate airflow.

Edit, attached pics of soldered line, and it's effect in operation.

I've used this mod for LS in the past to get 260w quite easily with little or no floodback issues at all. The temperatures are only marginally worse than stock, but it depends on the gas used and the overall airflow through the condensor as well. I always recommend max. airflow through the stock condensor with coil mod.

There are many 'better' ways to go, like new condensor etc etc but this mod costs the amount of copper 1/4" pipe and some plumbing solder, and the time it takes to do it.

20 dollars at most including the gas? Plus the time it takes to do it.

Fwiw, if anyone wants their LS modded for higher load, this is about as cheap a mod as it gets.

    Cheers

Nice firelight but i think u need to strees your cooler a bit longer than that pic u posted..also small fft is way to go to bench your phase cooling capabillities...My test here i done on friday night here is the post ......

    I have a Vapo Xe2 left sold my Ls and Xe...Bought a new Q6600 G0
these are my prefered quad and phase setup dosnt seem to bother the system with this Vcore...any higher and it was a differant story after just couple of minutes...the Xe2 is only capable of removing upto 180w@-18c
I have done lots of benchmarks at 4300Mhz SuperPi and such..But this Prime 95 really test your Phase units out with a good test of capable Vcore settings....Cheers Hori

at 1.44vcore real im starting to register temps ...pic below

Seems like i need more Vcore Error at 4Ghz but i dont think the cooler could handle the load after a few minutes maybe 3 max...
Ill raise up and try ..

And this latest pic below would have to be my Favourite setup for temps and 24/7 running..So a Vapochill can hold a Quadcore but it has limits..Mines around 1.45v Max after this i get heat and evaphead temps rise to unwanted temps..I know if it was a lightspeed it would be more comfortable at the 3800 or maybe the 4ghz run...Any Lightspeed owners out there .Cheers Hori

so my Machine is limited to around 1.45 max for Prime95...does not mean i cant get away with running those Wpime benchmarks at higher vcore as it would only be a 3 minute benchmark anyway....
