mmm seems my last post to ya got lost in the ether ... there's a Radio Shack down from Siam but I will have some local with the gear to help out, ping me tomorrow ...

Thanks Bfox, a couple of things for me to think about there.

No radioshack here, and the ROHS doesn't seem to of caught on here . It's got the lead in. I've tried two kinds. One is 60/40 tin/lead containing non corrosive flux. The other is tin-lead-silver alloy.

I wasn't coating the solder iron beforehand, instead coating the wire. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong.

Will look into the copper wick for cleaning up.

Very nice alpha0ne ... my board suffers a huge vDroop so Vcore is up high to allow for the load drop ... the Mod is really needed ... seems I may have got RLM's first board after he sent it back .. TiT

@ 3.60GHz WITHOUT the Vdroop mod connected

Q6600 L725A903 G0 - VID 1.2625 3.10Ghz prime stable @ 1.220Vcore real (default) idle taken by DMM

I was surprised how much more Vcore is needed once you go above 3.20GHz

3.20GHz needs 1.2825Vcore set in bios = 1.23V windoz idle 1.21V load (actual DMM reading)

3.60GHz needs 1.4525Vcore set in bios = 1.41V windoz idle 1.34V load (actual DMM reading)

Reported CPU-Z, Uguru and DMM Vcore readings variations are no more than .02V difference

Finding stuff here is real fun'n'games. I'm out in Bang Na, and ended up right over the other side of town at NPA out past Don Meung.

I really want to do this myself, but I think I'll take up the offer and atleast watch and learn. I'll give you a call tomorrow morning.
