I'm back to O/Cing.. E6550 G0 DS3

Hey everyone,
I've taken a long break from overclocking, my last rig was a Barton 2500+
and a NF7-S.. here is my new rig, if you guys can give me some tips
on what I can do with this setup, please share:

I hope I attached the image correctly.
All the voltages are stock. (Vcore=1.3375, Vdimm=1.9)
Stock intel hsf with the factory thermal pad..

It seems that my ram is what is limiting this overclock. I have to relax
the timings to 5-5-5-15 since all the fsb/mem dividers that are available
are with the memory at a higher frequency. (No option for me to run
the ram at a lower speed than the cpu with this motherboard.)
Note also that a 2.0v voltage on the ram wont let me run 4-4-4-
timings with ram freq that much higher than stock..

I'm surprised that I can keep the stock voltage and o/c a bit, but
it seems to be running really hot (54C core temps, and 62C cpu temp
as reported by Speedfan.)

I thought this ram should overclock well (the stock timings should be
4-4-4-15), any ideas?

I havent posted in awhile, are the new rules: at least a 100% overclock

A few years back, the moderators here started poo pooing on people posting in the overclocking forum and moving threads. I am not sure why either, to me, your post is about overclocking, I guess its not Extreme enough? I see it was moved to the Intel forum... I guess the goal is to separate things like this to the specific product types.

All right, I remember I was able to post a few years back
the results of my overclock, and I would get some tips
in the overclocking forum...

But anyway, So far I have it pushed it to 3.33Ghz, all voltages
still stock, orthos stable. I think I may have a pretty decent chip..
Others have told me the low 7x multi limits the o/cing capabilities
of the E6550.. but so far I cant complain. I am complaining about
my ram though. Maybe it is because I have only o/ced with DDR1
before, but I was able to run the stock timings at a fsb much higher
than the advertised one. I'm thinking of lowering the vcore to
lower than stock, and see how low a voltages I would need for
3.33Ghz to be orthos stable.

no dont lower just keep raising the fsb if your temps allow you to. ppl always say the lower multi you have to have good ram and board. i just ignore it cuz you get what you paid for so if your buying it you no what your getting yourself into so you need to buy the right hardware. you have a great oc going on keep pushin it. i would like to know your max fsb plz. thanks

edit: your runnin 1.32 vcore so i think your fine to raise the volts for higher stable overclock. cpuz reads the right vcore for me and it looks like yours is readin right to. i round mine up cuz that seems to be very close to bios so thats y i say 1.32v.

Just to update, now running at 3.4Ghz,
(486x7), all voltages are still at stock.
I'm quite surprised at this chip, I'm used to the type
of overclocking wheere raising the vcore gave you a higher
overclock, as long as your cooling was sufficient to handle it...
That was bad in the old AMD days. So far, I've had no
trouble raising the fsb pretty high due to the lower multi.
I would have thought I would need to raise the nb voltage
by now, but its holding up at stock. If I get the guts to do it,
I may later try tighter timings with some extra juice to the ram.
Unfortunately, all of the ram dividers available set the ram to
higher than the cpu fsb. Even though when I hada slight
overclock, the "auto" setting would set it lower. Not any more
though, weird.
