    E6320 & P5w DH Deluxe

I just got myself a E6320 to replace my old Pentium D 805. It is running now in my P5W DH Deluxe board without problems - except I can't even get it stable at 2.4GHZ at any voltage, it seems.

    Specs:
    E6320
    P5W DH Deluxe (2004 bios)
    ADATA 6400 2x 512 sticks
    Asus X1900XTX 512mb
    Tagan 550W

I've seen people get much higher, at stable, with stock cooling! I am cooling CPU and GPU with water (good watercooling). So heat is not a issue. It runs very cool.

What settings are you guys using for your E6320 & Asus P5W DH Deluxe. Just post what has worked for you and I'll give it a shot for myself.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    CPU volt: 1,44V
    NB: 1,55V
    SB: 1,2V
    Mem: 2,00V

    Currently running at 2300MHz.

    CPU Temp: 22C

    Mem timings:
    (freq: 337,4 @ 1:1)
    CAS Latency: 5
    CAS to CAS Delay: 6
    RAS Precharge: 6
    Cycle time(tras): 18 clocks

Guess that is about it right now!

    (edit)

Will disable HyperPath on next reboot.

I've NEVER seen a chip on water stop at 2.3Ghz!

Maybe it is my mem that can't keep up with the freqs?

You have SPD timings on Enable?
    Hyperpath 3 Disabled?
    PEG Link on Auto?
    Tried different Slot Powers?
Tried with VT on and off?

    What memory is it exactly?
    Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3GHz . DFI DK P45-T2RS Plus . XFX 9800GT 512MB . 8GB OCZ Blade PC2-9200 . WD6400AAKS AHCI .

SPD timings are read automatically from the ram sticks.
    Hyperpath disabled - check!
    peg link auto - check!
different slot powers: check! (its on "normal" now)
Virtualization? The field is locked now...can't be changed.

    Memory is A-DATA 2x512MB (tot. 1024MB) DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz - exactly like these ones: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=11069

Bios version: 2004 (should I try "2005" despite problems people seem to have?)

It seems like I've tried it all. Vcore upto 1,55V and it won't boot at more than 334FSB.

SuperPi 1mb at 2,3GHz was 21s on a absolutely unclean XP Pro install. Can't run a complete run of 3DMark01 because ATI CCC causes a crash, for a unknown reason (never happens with anything but 3DMARK01).

By the way I got a weird error when trying to go beyond 337FSB - "INTEL CPU UCODE LOADING ERROR" - it shows up right before the whole bios initiation is complete, and I have to press F1 TO RESUME WinXP loading, but of course, I got a blue screen after a couple of seconds.

Now I'm running stable at 334FSB, but really, I had hoped for at least 2,7GHz with my watercooling.

Most likely a setting problem, best if you can post pics of your BIOS settings for all to see.

Well, I sure wonder what that little setting would be. I've tried EVERYTHING.

    Now I'm at this point:

    Vcore: 1,57V
    NB: 1,65V
    MEM: 2,2,V

    FSB: 360

Manually set memory timings 5 (CAS)-5 (RAS TO CAS DELAY)-5 (RAS PRECHARGE)-18 (CYCLE TIME)-1 (BANK CYCLE TIME) @ 4:3

Runs 100% stable - although EXPLORER.EXE keeps crashing ALL the time for a unknown reason! 3DMARK01, SuperPI and everything else completes fully - but EXPLORER.EXE just crashes

Explorer issue resolved (re-installed XP SP2, just the service pack)

Tried a session of 3DMark01 a couple of hours ago.

    E6320 @ 2,4GHz
    X1900XTX @ stock

Unclean XP install, with bitorrent in the background and countless other processes

Good bad? I will soon upgrade to Quadcore and 2900XT 512mb or 1gb along with better memory (2gb).

    I suppose so ;(

Anyhow, I had a leak and my gfx and motherboard died. So I've ordered a Asus p5k deluxe and a HD2900XT...

    OK,
Got the new P5K Deluxe motherboard today, installed that and my E6320 with only stock cooling, no water or anything - so far 3.0GHz, without any effort whatsoever.

Changing motherboard has made a incredible difference!

Some new results - all stock cooling at the moment. I've not found the max of this CPU yet, there should absolutely be more potentional as I am only using about 1,4V for vCore. I honestly did not expect my memory to keep up with these speeds...

I ordered a new set of 2GB memory, its the Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF Dominator 2x1024MB(tot. 2048MB) XMS2-8500 1066MHz kit which includes that 'Dominator Airflow Fan'. I only got the kit because its very cheap and better than my current one.
Hoping to get more out of the CPU by doing this upgrade.

I am currently at 501MHz FSB. I also noticed that Vista does not run very smooth with only 1GB physical memory, so that is one other reason for picking up a new memory kit. Initially, I wanted a 4GB kit but that would be a bit more costly and more than I had in budget as I needed some other parts, such as a new soundcard, etc,.

Pretty happy with this E6320 'budget' chip. It performs very well. Next CPU upgrade will be 45nm, or if AMD has a Ace up their sleeves...

I have a similar CPU E6320 with a Gigabyte P35 GS4 and 2gig Crucial Ballistix tracers PC6400. Can you post your memory timings and memory voltage?

    2.2V
    FSBRAM 1:1

    CAS 5
    RAS To Cas 5
    RAS Precharge 5
    Cycle Time 18

I actually left it using the SPD default timings, but may mess around before the new memory arrives, to see if I can get more out of them.

    Thanx
But I do not know where to adjust FSBRAM ratios on a gigabyte board.
    Will try any way.
