Hmm, will change my mod then too!

Is there any Vfsb mod out there and anyone knows what exactly does Vfsb do?

1.96V @ boot or set in windows. 1.97V = shutdown

With my E6400 and E6600 it doesn't help, but the GTLREF seems important with the quad core.

Interesting Article about: Adjusting A/GTL+ Levels for Increased FSB Signaling Margins and Overclocking

    Some tests done today:

    Config:
    P5K (v-core, v-droop, v-ddr2, v-cpupll/southbridge/sata)
    Revision 1.02G
    BIOS 0603
    E6600 388 x 9 1:1
    v-ddr2: 2.2v
    v-core: 1.38v

FSB VTT in the BIOS | DMM | GTLREF
    AUTO | 1.55v | 0.99v
    1.20v | 1.55v | 0.99v
    1.30v | 1.33v | 0.85v
    1.40v | 1.44v | 0.92v
    1.50v | 1.55v | 0.99v

v-MCH in the bios | DMM | Heatpipe Temp*
    AUTO | 1.58v |
    1.25v | 1.58v | 50.8°C (+/- 0.4°C)

    1.70v | 1.73v | 56.9°C (+/- 0.4°C)

Now with the v-mod (FSBVTT & GTLREF), VR set at 14K Omhs

FSB VTT in the BIOS | DMM | GTLREF
    AUTO | n/a | n/a
    1.20v | 1.65v | 1.06v

it must be. my board are stupidy insulated with nail varnish it's being hard to make some reads...

1: can you please read resistênce between pin 11 and ground?

2: can you find a spot that have 0 ohm resistênce to pin 11?

it must be connect an pot with res= (1) between that spot (2)and ground

or find the smd resist. that make the resistênce you read on (1) and pencil it

    i think, maybe wrong

    vcore: 1.7bios
    vdroop: pencil
    E6600: vid mod, 1.40625v.

I removed the 681 Ohms resistor for testing the vmod.

With 165 Ohms: (and with the vdroop)

After 2.040v in the BIOS, 2.07/2.08v (DMM)

After 2.040v, no monitoring (maybe 2.1v DMM)

In parallel you need something like 217 Ohms for 2v in the bios (with the vdroop) so, 5k or 2k or 1k Ohms can do the job. PWM get really hot (my insulation on the back of the PWM melted! , CPU under 2 stages cascade, beware.

So are you saying that you can solder say a 1Kohm variable resistor in parallel with the 681ohm resistor in the pic and this will "fool" the DAC ?

Me too. 1.46v set in bios, 1.44-1.45v real under orthos for me on my p5k. B4 with 1.5v set in bios it would droop to 1.38v under orthos. This is with an e6750es @ 3.6ghz...

thanks for info i'v cheked the 681ohm resistor has 20 ohm to ground from 1 side and 700 to ground on the other side, must be just solder 1k or so to ground on 700ohm side
or solder in paralel on that resistor.

i'm a litle confuzed, it will be needed vid mod on cpu? you just talk on this mod and vdroop mod, why no v-core mod? you substitute vcore mod by vid mod on cpu?

    realy thanks

It seems to be working just fine. (i can't say more, there is nothing on the "typical application circuit" in the datasheet for that pin.

Solder a wire on each red points to your VR (set at 1000 Ohms) then decrease the resistance.
    No need VID mod.
For the vdroop it is much better with, but it's not needed.
Do not use the other vcore mod, only that mod (without OVP).
That vcore mod only work when you set over 1.6000v in the bios.

(when i hit 2.10v (DMM) the monitoring say 0.024v)

PS: and thx to the dude of the pic (link on my previous post)

Again, lot of vcore = dangerous, beware.
