    Q6600 @3800 1.42 Vcore

    My setup:
    CPU: Q6600 G0 Vid: 1.2625 L729A312.
    Motherboard: GIGABYTE P35-DS3P.
Cooling: Water cooling (Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra).
    RAM: Geil 2X1G PC6400 (5 5 5 15).
    Room temp: ~16C
Idle temp: ~22C-23C (idle pic shows some activities on core 0 and core 3)
    Load temp: ~48C-50C

First I installed the Q6600 in an ASUS P5B DLX, the max fsb I could get with it was 401 MHz So I decided to get a P35 motherboard to see how far I can get from this chip. The chip can do over 4GHZ easy, but the RAM is holding me back. If I can find a Vdrop mod I can run this chip stable at 3800 @1.4 V.

the first image is idle temp (room temp ~16) and the second image is full load temp. Notice the Vdrop (from 1.424 to 1.392 [1.4625 in BIOS])

Thanks. I think I got lucky this time. The E6600 that was replaced was running 3600 @ 1.46V and temp was around 35C idle and 55-60C load (room temp ~23) with the same cooling setup

Usually not being able to read the temps is a bad sign, but Core Temp sure is optimistic.

BTW, do I have an engineering sample or is Core Temp off its rocker?

interesting to see how DDR3 adds a lot more time to the SuperPI 32M tabulation...i'm a bit surprised with that much difference especially when you consider your 700+ memory speed.

    3.8Ghz, 475x8, 1.45v Speedfan, 34C-40C idle between the 4 cores...

Here are my Memory Scores in Sandra (the ones in Red)

Here's mine so far. I love this chip! I don't have any of the Orthos or Prime stuff, but what I can say is that I crushed the Movie '300' using DVD Shrink (just the actual movie, not the extras) in 2 mins, 57 sec. without a restart, as well as 2 other movies...This is with the temps rocking ~100F outside in Southern California here (AC is on inside, but house temp is 80F right now).....

    WOW!
Hopefully this holds and it doesn't crash right in the middle of saving a file or a huge upload/download!

Hope this helps people. I will be glad to share my semi-tuned BIOS settings if you all want.

    Thanks!
    jeeka.

i did a 4x run of superpi 32M and i was about 5 minutes difference between running a single instance of 32M...still...not as fast i would think it would be especialy when you factor in the 723 Mhz of memory speed and 3900 Mhz of quad core speed.

hmm, i've got a 1.25 VID G0. Compared to what i've seen, seems pretty low... i wonder if that's good or bad. I have to do that TR U120 Extreme mod before I push it.
