On another note, on stock speed and under full load i'm getting temps of up to 55C and idle around 40C and thats with a TT Big Typhoon VX and Akasa 5022 Thermal Compound. This seems a bit on the high side, even for stepping B3. Is this right?
Yeah, C1E is a power saving state. Not very useful for overclocking.

What are you measuring those temps with? I'm getting those at 3.2ghz, 1.375vCore. CoreTemp seems to be the most accurate. I've got a Tuniq Tower, AS5, and the large side-panel vent on my Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 so I can't see any other way of reducing the temperature without lapping the HSF (which I think I will).

PC Wizard 2007, Asus PC Probe II, Asus AI Suite. I get a CPU temp of 16C but core temps of around 35 when idle. Temps seem to have dropped a bit due to lower ambient temp. This is all still at stock speed.

I've used P95. Works just fine with x64.

I have this on 1.45 Vcore 3.2 ghz with tuniq.
Diode shows 49 degress, coretemps varies from 60-65 degrees on full load.
Hope this is answer good enough.

Hey guys! Simple question before i start to overclock that Q6600 G0 L724A :

Here are my temps ATM with 1.304v real (1.3250v set). I used the thin line across the cores method to apply my AS5.

    IDLE:

    LOAD:

Do you guys think i should try to remount since i am getting 5c difference between core 0-1 and core 2-3 during load? Is it normal ? Thanks!

I remounted a couple of times and I still get a difference of about 5-6c between core sets. Seems like it is normal.

    Let 'er rip !!!

    I have another question doh.

Is it all right to use Prime95 x 4 with Small FFTs to stress my Q6600 ?

Oh and in Coretemp, i see my Tjunction @ 100c. Now i remember that with my E6600 it was at 85c. What is the difference between both ? What is actually Tjunction ?

    Thanks

Just to run at 4ghz we need 450 FSB which is pretty tough to achieve on most most mobo/quad combos.

Regardless I bought one to see what it could do with a P5K Deluxe...
My P5KC runs 450 fsb all day (Yes, with the Q6600)

Thank god. All I see is G0's getting decent numbers. Finally a B3. With a little luck I can do the same.

The ultra 120 extreme is a bit tricky to mount, anyone has this better to the washer mod, or get new screws, mine was giving me all kinds of wierd temps in the beginning, intill i took it out and found out it wasnt making full contact with the base of the heatsink.........

Difference is about 7-8ēC here, lapped CPU and Ultra-120, AS5, mounted 290348908349082 times, and the diff is the same

7c difference between cores 1,2 67c load and 3,4 60c load.Funny thing is when stress testing the cooler cpu's would always fail first.

The difference between cores will increase when one core is stressed more than another.
