Need some help on a case choice: TJ07 or Lian Li V2100B/V2000B

I purchased a PA120.3 for the rig in my sig...

Storm rev2 cpu(moving to a fuzion or GTX)
MCW60 on x1900xt
DDC2 w/ petra top

I may add a NB block but doubt it

I am not good a modding..I could get a premodded V2000B or order a V2100B from performance-pcs and have them modd the bottom for a PA120.3

I have seen the TJ07 hold a PA120.3 in the bottom...so not much modding there

In TJ07..can the HDD racks be placed in the location of 5.25 bays ..so I could place a Sunbeam fan controller and 2 dvdrw above it?

I like the idea of a door and sound dampening material on the V2100B
I can skip the door, not a must and I can always aftermarket add sound dampening material

I like the noise dampening on my P180

If you all had a choice:
TJ07: PA120.3 at the bottom
V2100B PA120.3 in the bottom
V2000B PA120.3 in the bottom

which would you choose..TIA

For my V2000B I'm going to cut out for a PA120.3 on the bottom, and remove all the drive racks (they have screws apparently), and mount the drives in the 5.25 bays using Nexus Drivetwins.

Minimum of cutting, and you'll cut where nobody is going to see.

Id go for the TJ07. No modding to hold a rad in the bottom. I dont know about the HDD rack question tho.

Both are great cases, but TJ07 makes it easier without having to do any cutting. However, if you're handy with the jigsaw, the V2k series does have a lot of room.

I'm planning a TJ07 build next to replace my office comp where my MM's footprint might not be optimal.

I love my TJ07. I'm actually reinstalling my watercooling as we speak. I'll prolly post some finished pics sometime soon.

I'm not using a 120.3 though, I'm using a MCR220-QP.

But I woud need to say that if you don't want to mod at all, TJ07 i the best bet.

I would love to do the mods myself...I did a little cutting on my P180 but heck any idiot could have done what I did....I basically removed rivets and made straight cuts only

Never had to figure where to place screw holes or make round cuts..or use a template..etc

Yes the V2100/V2000 series the cuts/holes are in the bottom for no-one to see..except if I screw it up and I cant mount the rad properly

Still trying to decide if I want to feel the "rush" of doing it myself (good or bad result)..I was happy with myself on the P180..not a very handy guy at all

Also..no matter the case..I will cut the upper/lower chamber divider so I can remove the rad/blocks and pump as en bloc setup(aka dnottis V2000 build)...really like this method..makes for easier bleeding..but more hassle installing the whole setup..you need like 10 hands

Any thoughts on whether a bottom mounted rad would have same quality of air flow so as not be choked vs side mounted rad(ala TJ07..and I would just remove the mess to restrictive IMHO)

anyone know if you can place a PA120.3 and 1HDD cage in the bottom of TJ07 with a CorairHX620w PSU

Here's a dirty photo of my TJ07 mock up...PA120.3 (visible), PA120.2 behind that, HX620 PS and a D5 pump, all stuffed in the bottom. I am taking one of the HD cages from the bottom and mounting it in the 5.25 bay area using some standoffs. I might use some of the P180 silicone bushings for that mount when I finalize what I'm doing there. And now for the still in the cutting/planning stage photo should you need some ideas...pay no attention to the wacky tubing routing, still need to drill another hole for the feed, just popped a quick shot just now as it is on my workbench.

your idea on the HDD was what I was thinking or along those line...wondering whether you could bolt it into the floor of the divider between upper/lower chamber but in the 5.25 bays

any chnace you could place a 120mm fan in location 92mm fans(why 92mm fans..why??)

Not too sure on the divider floor would work so well, the USB ports box is there, it would have to be in front of the MB if you wanted it on the floor. The expansion slots vents and the 92mm holes will be exhaust on mine, I want the two 120mm blowhole fans blowing in direct on the memory and such with fresh cool air, I'm leaving the 92mm fan holes empty.

pretty easy with jigsaw so i'd recommend this G70 but...


just go with tj07 since u don't wanna cut

btw: probably take a small? performance hit tho since one rad fan will be taking heat from psu
