Tbh I think the problem is water cooling.. was for me atleast. The heatpipes on this board seems to be designed to have some airflow from the cpu cooler.

When I put in a fan to blow from the side of my case into ram/NB my temps dropped insane amounts.
NB temp was 42c idle/ 53c under load, now they are 42c idle, 43c under load.

Is this a known issue, or is it just faulty?
Check your manual. Page 100 of mine lists the beep codes, but yours is not mentioned. The only "10" beep code is for a BIOS ROM error.

I got this too. After windows fails to install the device it gives a checkbox that you can check to never try to install the device again, and it will stop bugging you. F5L is a BETA bios, after all.

Can anyone confirm if F4G gives the ability to set memory to 1150 mhz?
The standard F4 BIOS let me run my Ballistix at 1220Mhz fully stable. Also I run 501FSB 24/7 on my DQ6, the NB (which is also the MCH, btw) runs very cool if the cool metal is any indication to go by. From what I know Gigabyte does NOT have a northbridge temp sensor, just a board PCB sensor.

Anyone with Gigtabyte P35-DS3R ever tried F5b bios ?
Is this bios better than F2?

Of cource the heatpipe solution need "some" airflow to work well BUT, I have WC setup and I truly DON'T have any other fans in the case except the PSU which is located in another "compartment" of the Lian-Li case. Since I have a Lian-Li everything is upside-down and the heat from the heatpipe (NB and Mosfet) rise upwards the HD 2900 XT. Even though I have this setup I get no problems what so ever with overheated NB. I have temps up towards 65C when fully loaded for 10 hours of Orthos (stable).
I also have reached 4158 MHz SuperPi stable with all voltages on MAX (except CPU that was 1.85 and Mem was 2.40)
So my point is that I really doubt that the Gigabyte (P35-DQ6) have any problems with high temps on Mosfet and NB.

    CPU: 4104 MHz, 456x9, 1.68V
    Memory: 912 MHz, 4-4-4-12, 1:1, 2.4V

hey guys quick question, on the DQ6 is it safe to run the FSB +0.15v for 24/7 use.... looks like its whats allowing me stability on my overclock (9x400 @ 1.4v)

after a few more hours of prime i think i might bring it down but before i risk any damage i figured id ask

    Chassis : SilverStone TJ07
    PSU : Corsair 620W
    CPU : Q6600 G0 L723A765

I'm not entirely sure. It over volts the FSB, so in effect it would be overvolting everything the FSB is connected to. Personally I use that setting a little as possible as I don't know the answer to that. I would guess that you are hugging the borderline though... It's been my experience that I've not needed it until over a 530FSB when I'm at the board's absolute FSB limit. That said, a quad will certainly stress the FSB heavily, and I've only been playing with a single dualcore so far.

I run it at +0.3 now 24/7, that's after being insanely pissed off about it not running stable though. So I've pretty much decided if I toast it I'm getting something else

One thing I've noticed is that both chipset and my ram sticks are really really hot, and I think it must be pushing more volt through the memory, as they prefer normal voltage over +0.2 (which they liked on my last board).

I got active cooling both targeting memory and chipset with this fsb, and I wouldn't recommend doing it

Uh i have a E2140 running w/ a P35-S3L. I was wondering if anyone has this board and if you do, what was your highest fsb you could get w/ the motherboard. Currently, my E2140 is running 363 x 8 = 2.9ghz. My coretemp reads 68 degrees on load, so it could be a heat wall. It runs 2.9ghz w/ 1.3125v.

At anyrate, i'm just makeing sure it isn't a mobo issue.

Overclocked from 200MHz FSB to 300 FSB, vcore at 1.36v in BIOS. EIST enabled, C1E enabled, TM2 enabled. Boot into windows. cpuz and speedfan shows that the voltage does not go lower when the multiplier drops to 6 from 9. The voltage always stays at 1.328 at idle and drops to 1.312 at load. Why doesn't the voltage drop a little bit when at idle and the multiplier is at 6?

At stock speed, the voltage is 1.15v at idle multiplier at 6, at load the multiplier jumps to 9 and the voltage is 1.296. There is not voltage gap between idle and load when overclocked to 300fsb.

Speedfan temp2 is 12C higher than core 0 or core 1. What is temp2? When overclocked, temp2 jumps to 70C while core0 and core1 are at 55C. the temps can't be right.

Does Speedstep work when overclocked? Ive never used it.

Also: Are you replying on Software voltage readings or DMM results? 90% inaccurate for voltages, dont trust it.

Open up speedfan. check all the temperatures. Load the CPU (single-thread or multi-thread app...doesnt matter) check to see which temp rises. Thats the CPU temp. Nothing else matters., as far as im concerned.

One of my Speedfan readings says -2. As long as you can track a relative CPU temp, and you're happy that the CPU is stable, it technically doesnt really matter what the temps are.

I have watercooled my board about 2-3 days after i got it 2.5 months ago. I have no fan over the Silent pipe. Works completely fine. The cooling is easily large enough not to need any airflow at all.

EDIT: Assuming you are using a DQ6.

68 degrees seems very high to me for such voltage and frequency, even using the Intel Stock cooler. What software do you use to read your temp and what CPU cooler do you use ?
Some software give +15°C because they read the wrong Tjunction. A temperature of 53° seems more logic.

Obvisouly if you want to overclock higher, you need to increase the Vcore by small steps and see if your cpu is stable.

    Thanks dnottis,
    Tried F5e and F5b yesterday,
    using Celeron 420 runs @ 430MHz, memory at 2.5x = 537.5MHz,
with F5e and extreme setting at memory performance enhance, PL was set to 7 at windows, but with f5b, with same clock and timing, PL was automatically set to 6. I tried to change PL to 6 with f5e and my rig restart instantly. So for this moment I'm using f5b

I don't know why you people are having stability issues with F4B running 1230 mhz memory. Here as you see 40 minutes stable, until I stopped it.

is there a way to tell if the motherboard died on me?i have about a week before my warranty with newegg ends so should i just give them a call tomorrow?

Pull the chip outta the board and re-seat it. Also, make sure you are actually powering off the PSU at the wall or rocker for a few mins to completely discharge, it should reset.

Unplug the the cord from the PSU then clear the cmos if that doesn't work try using only 1 stick of ram at a time. If it boots up with one stick in go into the bios reset everything to optimal settings then put the other stick in after save and exit the bios.
