Here are some pics of my workstation. I thought I would share. There is more then what you see but I couldn't fit everything in. On the table is an extra 150GB RaptorX I haven't figured out what to do with yet. The monitor off to the right works with the macmini on the table. The other 5 all work together via NVIDIA nView.

Well, I would replace the top 3 19 inch monitors with 2 24 inchers but it is hard to justify the purchase. But to answer your question, I get a lot of work done in a very short time period.

Typically, I will have a movie going on one, editing pictures on another, monitoring a webpage I am working on in another, using another for file uploading, and using the last for webpage construction. My wife thinks it to be excessive but I can't get enough when it comes to hardware.

The LCD's use far less energy than the CRT's. All 6 of my monitors together use only twice the energy my old 19 inch CRT monitor did (that was one stand alone monitor). This means less heat output. Don't get me wrong, they can put out some heat after hours of use but nothing like the CRT's can.
