most of the time its the sub timings that are to tight can you post a screen shot of systool am2 mem settings and drive strengths and also memset with it

if something is to tight we will see then you can request bios with looser sub timmings

What RAM are you using? You may want to look into the board I have. It's in my sig. It's cheap and great.

WTF ???? Where are you basing your conclusions from ?? I was one of the first people on this forum to adopt this board and its running absolutely puuuurfect . And about the older chipset , not really , the SB600 performs better than the Nforce 5xx series chipsets for AMD and so does ATI RD580X . Look into it , it clocks a hell lot better than most boards out there .

Why Z1 cant get his computer clocking is really beyond me. I had this board for 2 days and already maxed my ram and cpu out. Its one of the simplest boards to oc. I am waiting for Tony to post some pics as I also have some questions about Dram strength settings in the bios and see if that helps me get some more clocks out of these Tracers .

Check DFI forums, and you'll see the issues with this board that are piling up.

alright guys I want to first thank you for helping me!! even if its just hints on what to do. XS is where its at!! but ok, lets get into this. I currently haven't really clocked it to anything much over stock. its still running 2T, as it won't boot at all on default settings at all on 1T even with looser timings...the board just beeps at me. it currently also has the shipped bios. OHOHOH... also this is the ADA5200CSBOX...idk my other info as the Cpu is already installed but i do think i remember there being a program that can be used to look at that while running windows....anyone have it??

here is one of the screenshots from Memset... for some reason Systool doesn't work on my system..at least right now, it greys out my screen and freezes my computer...could be the ov'clock settings i currently have messin with that?? idk??

Have you tried switching memory slots? I had some issues with my Corsair and the DFI I'm running now. It came down to one setting that was causing real problems. You might have to go through the tedious elimination process to figure it out.

its Trrd , you have micron chips and they like a looser Trrd settings to clock higher. Also increase your Async , I ran 6 ns minimum on mine ( ohhh btw the bios that I sent you works just fine , im current on an 8ns bios , try it out , its a painless flash using winflash and it helped me boot up with higher ram speeds than the original bios .

alright guys, i will try the 8ns bios ; the Trrd timing ; and msimax said to change my trc to 21 and mal to 9. so i will try this and post back!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!! lol even if it doesn't work im tryin new stuff that might work compared to what i was trying!!

wait a min.... if memset can change all these settings why not just use it to change them? instead of flashing the bios MAL - max async latency right? (yep feel stupid) and all the other settings memset can change...so why flash it?

aight, i changed the settings with JUST MEMSET 3.3... computer boots fine. only thing is it doesn't like saving and exiting the bios...i have to cut it off after that then turn it on fresh and it boots fine...that doesn't bug me that much tho.

My voltages so far are :
    Vcore 1.36 V
DRAM 2.35 V (on the high side i know, i have a fan on it and last i felt of it under full load at 2.3v it wasn't hot at all)
    NB 1.19 V

    memset settings are :

also, what have been some of everyones settings? i probably should just run around and search for this...as i'm sure i would dig something up. i will look around, just wondering if anyone has quick access to post them up.

explain this one... i mess with the timings and such..reboot...mess with them some more.. reboot and then it said after just leaving all the post screen and such it said : windows boot.ini file incorrect...or something to that effect. so i attempted a recovery with using the windows boot disc and it gave me blue screen Fault _ page in non-paged area...

then i re-did timings in bios and booted fine... WEIRD..

any reason that the timings can cause windows to say the system folder is corrupt or missing AND say that the boot.ini file is bad?? LOL

SO FAR.... i don't think I'm going to get more out of it... I haven't tried 1T with these settings and this 8ns bios YET...but it won't hurt at this point
I tried 280 and it wasn't stable... anyone got any hints or such on what i should be doing next... my voltages are all up...DDR2 is at its max from what i have heard of 2.35V

i have 8ns, 9ns and 10ns bios from journe.. i can upload them somewhere and link them here i reckon

any hints on what to do next to get higher/faster clks? i will try 1t and see later today

also, my buddy that had this board, went out and bought the M2R32-MVP and his boots WAY faster than mine....and his memory bandwidth is only 7/5 while mine is 10/10 in sandra and his timings are looser... maybe the ASUS has a better memory management?? idk how all that stuff works

yes , HT is dual bandwidth , so its 2xthe rating shown in cpu-z. Your memory can take upto 2.45 V from the board. You should raise your vcore and the bootup time is because of the x1950xt that you are running. I bet your friend has an nvidia card. Its a known problem with the X1xxx series . Its got nothing to do with your board.

I do 5-5-4-12 @ 2.15V on my ballistix at DDR2-1140 . So you should be able to do at least DDR2-1100 with lower voltages. Lower your multiplier to an even number and try ocing the ram in sync ( I know it will lower your speed but at least you will know what the max your ram can go to ? )

ok, the only difference i do believe between our two systems (mine and my friends that has the ASUS) is he has a 3gb/s boot drive while mine is the normal 1.5... idk if it makes that much of a difference, both of us are running windows xp... thanks for the timings, what FSB mhz were u running on that?

How would I be able to run lower voltages on my chips? the ballistix memory you have might be a special low voltage high performing memory
so you are running those timings on some TEAM value ram?? whats your exact model of ram? and is it the micron chips?

I'm going to try those timings you have shown soon and play with it a little... I ran 280mhz for 3 days..and then it decided to hate me....lol. but its now running at 276mhz fsb

ok i found out the exact boot drive that my friend has, I have the WD Raptor 37gb and he has the 74gb Raptor... thats the only difference. SOOO that leads me to believe that the motherboard is playing into the booting and speed of the system....the only difference in running processes is that I'm using ATI tool. I might try booting without ATI tool and see if it gets faster.

My friend is running MORE hard drives, a pci Creative sound card.
