"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."

Please, this is some guy that just started a discussion and made up some numbers, this is NOT posted by the respected news personnal of X-bit labs.
"There's no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance." -- Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer
I shall point you both to the following articles:
Nvidia Creates First Graphics Chip with Embedded DRAM. (X-bit labs)
TSMC, Nvidia tip 65nm embedded DRAM (Solid State Technology)
NVIDIA Recruiting eDRAM Engineers (Neowin)
nVidia is very capable of integrating eDRAM into a Die/ASIC.
As for the sound, lets hope it's an updated version of SoundStorm 2, assuming it includes audio. SoundStorm was amazing back in the nForce2 days & if they had carried it on they might have either pushed Creative into number 2 or at least forced Creative to actually do drivers properly.
That's not the point. EDRAM is a waste on a consumer-level platform due to all the different resolution and AA possibilities. NVIDIA would need to cater to the worst case scenario (2560x res at the very least) and the amount of EDRAM needed to do this would not be worth the die area.

but im getting my cards mid august, (ultras) 8900 refresh better come soon!
ATI should sue... their clearly riding the coattails of the 9800xt's success.
I still dont believe they can have a card out with those specs at that price by the end of the year. I hope Im proven wrong.
The eDRAM process is used on the Pre-R600 of the X360 and the result is 4X AA without any impact on performances, due to the 100Gb/s of Bandwith due to the fact that the memory is nearly ON the die, that makes the connection blazing fast and make it easy to use 4X AA... So if it become reality one day, only us will make profit out of it![]()

Precisely. The X360 only supports up to 1080p which is becoming the gamers choice for games.
All they'd have to cater to for "Free 4xAA" is 1080p & under. 2560x1600 is still not a main consumer level resolution and won't be until the end of next year at the earliest (hopeful estimate). They'd probably need 16MB or so to enable 4x AA for free on the mainstream resolutions. The X360 has 10MB for up to 1080p support.
