heh, I emailed Intel awhile back asking if there will be a BIOS supporting 1333 FSB procs on BX2. In a nutshell their response was they cannot comment on unreleased products. If it will be supported it will show up in CPU support list.

I suppose we will just have to wait a few more days. If it's not there, then I guess they want to push P35 boards.

Well if ASUS can make their 975 boards handle 45nm cpus I for one cant see any reason why Intel cant do the same. Besides, not doing it while being able to would probably ensure that noone would ever buy a intel board again.

Bear in mind that 1333Mhz FSB on 975x make DDR2 800Mhz run to 833Mhz.

Perhaps Intel doesn't wan't to overclock everybody's memory.

I think in some case, with cheap memory modules, it could be a problem.

Are you sure that the board will not have a FSB:RAM 1:1 ratio when the cpu is running at 1333MHz FSB?

This doesn't make sense to me.

By my understanding, 1066FSB setups run RAM at 533, so it would make sense that 1333 systems would run RAM at 667. DDR2-800 runs above both of these, so what would Intel be doing to run RAM at 833 on a 1333FSB system?

hi guys, i have a choice between 3 different memory sets to use on my Bad Axe 2, but im not sure which set would be the best to go with. out of the 3 which one of these would give the best overclocking and stability with the BX2.

I tried this last night just to see if it would work and everything worked perfectly. Is this what you were looking for?

I bought a Q6600 from Fry's yesterday and I can set memory and fsb at 1:1 when the CPU is running at 1333MHz(333) FSB.

I wounder why Peanuts said when fsb is 1333MHZ, the memory speed will be 833MHz.

A 1:1 ratio running a 1333 fsb is 667.

I didn't said that 1:1 wasn't possible with 1333Mhz FSB.

What is your Ram frenquency at 1333Mhz FSB with 4:5?

I noticed they added Q6700 in their CPU support list. I dunno if that means 1333 CPUs will not be supported or they might add it later.

Hell guys, this is my first post , but i've been reading this thread for months cuz i have myself an Intel XBX2 and i'm a little concerned about future cpu support for this motherboard. If Intel doesn't give further support for 1333 FSB CPU's and 45 nm penryn's we all are screwed up, specially if you are one of the many people( including me) that think that this mobo is awesome, stable, etc.

But looking on the web i found this:

If you look well, they were playing a demo of Crysis with the new Intel penryn's 45 nm "Yorkfield" with a system configuration based on 975BX2 motherboard!!!, 2 gigs of ram, 8800 GTX, etc... The main point is the presence of the Bad Axe 2, this -at least for me- give hopes fo everybody that intel will still give support for newer cpu technologies for this great motherboard. I'm not pretty sure if they did some heavy modding to the mobo or they just released a beta bios, it is all suppositions.

I'm still crossing my fingers, hoping that Intel will give us great news very soon...

Sux, so at least give us 1333FSB Kentsfield support for crying out loud.

I have an opportunity to buy a QX6850 (quite a few other upgrades too) and would love to know if it would work, not expecting it to though. Then theres availability of it, so at the least its Q6700 unfortunately.

why should they release the penryn when AMD has nothing to put up with current Intel processors? Intel is being smart
