Anybody have an idea as to why, since I have put the mushkin ram in, when I hit the power button, the machine powers up for a second or two, shuts down, then powers up fully and boots into windows?

Not a Dell.
dont worry

Any known memory instability issues on low memory speeds on the P35-DQ6?
I'm running 400mhz fsb, memory 5-5-5-18, divider 2, option 1, +0.20ddram.
Prime small ffts stable, blend test dies instantly.
I've had this cpu + ram (4x1gb) in an asus p5k before, running 400*8 cpu, memory at 1000mhz 4-4-4-8, and now it wont do 5-5-5-18 :/.
Should I be adjusting FSB/MCH voltage at 400mhz fsb? What are considered safe values for the FSB/MCH on this board? (Note, I had to take my backplate off to fit my watercooling).
And any point in flashing another bios? Board came with F3.

ok here is my situation
i was running an E6600 on my P35C-DS3R although it did not run as high on this board as it did on my old ASUS P5N32-E, i was happy because i kind of was having big time issues with the ASUS and RAID running VMWARE anyway
so I got me an E6850 today and slapped it on the P35 and the only way i could get it stable was at 411 * 9 now i tried every combbination i could imagine for several hours whit no luck getting pass 3700
then i dusted my old P5N32-E and walla running 8*500 an hour ORTHOS stable now I know that is not enough however with the P35 i will only run a few seconds pass 3700
some of my observation the P35 has some FSB wall/holes and i could not get pass that my memory will run ok to about 1220 in any event i have to up the volt to 1.60 which i tried on both boards but the ASUS actually/surprisingly holds up better than the P35
i am running a swiftech water cool with apogee wb and its keepeing the sys cool on the P35 the board temp nevr when up pass 39 as i place a nice fan on the NB heatsink on the ASUS i have some after market coolers on the NB and SB the only thing i can tell thusfar that makes a difference is the vcore both boards at 1.6 but the Asus is holding up also once again i have to mention those FSB holes/walls
i really like the P35 board so i hipe that future bios fix the issues
yes there are some holes
i can run 510fsb but bot 511
just waitin for my 6850 to see how high i can go
i dont wanna go below 500 cause of major bandwith gain for me

Ohh, thanks, I'll toy with that.
Another problem (that I might run into some more now when trying those :p ) is that I can't run the memory at 2.0 divider and change the memory timings at the same time.
I can however run it at 2.4 or anything above that and still access the memory timings, weird stuff :P
Ahh where are the new bioses for p35! Taking so long!
Didn't work on either setting, the cpu is stable, and I can't really imagine this being a ram problem.
Would the chipset MCH/FSB voltage need to be upped to stay stable at 400mhz fsb? And how much +volt is safe for those two (removed backplate on my board).
//edit, fsb volt +0.1 mch volt +0.1 to test, and it now passes 3 prime blend tests, it crashed in less than 10 seconds without em. So it's the chipset having issues, not the memory. Still wondering how high those voltages can go before I start getting heat problems
//edit2, spoke too soon, still crashes :/

Lots of new drivers available guys, Realtek 889A codec drivers version 1.72:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
Intel Management Engine Interface (HECI) drivers, version 3.0.30.1086:
http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...30.1086_PV.exe
The HECI driver is nesscary when you enable Intel QST (Quiet System Technology) in bios, an uknown device will pop up in Device Manager and you'll need to load this driver.
Here's a good one...a new Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver update, version 7.5.3.1001, screenies:
http://www.station-drivers.com/forum...hp?p=8575#8575
And download:
http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...ivers.com).exe
Here is the .pdf manual:
http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...sm7_manuel.exe
I'm assuming these driver updates are related to the fast approaching X38 release.

Question: Some people here in Germany report start-up problems when running specific RAM-dividers.
The board is on start-up switching off and on again. What's the deal with that? Is there anything to overcome this issue?
How high does the MCH generally go on the P35-DQ6 without more voltage?
I'm starting to think that's whats screwing up for me at 400mhz fsb, not my memory. Giving it more voltage doesn't seem to do much though.
Is the system sensor accurate? How hot should/can that get?
I'm not supposed to plug in a power connector in the covered up part of the motherboard on a DQ6 right?
I have two power outs like this on my psu, one called CPU1 (2x2), the other called CPU2(also 2x2 obviusly). On the DQ6 I plug in CPU1, and the place where I could fit cpu2 is covered up by a black piece of plastic. And from what I understood, this is only to be used if you have a bigger connector, not two seperate ones.
Now I'm pretty sure I'm only supposed to use CPU1, and plugging in CPU2 could do some damage to the board, but I gotta ask since it's being so unstable at semi high fsb's for me.
uncover the other one and plug your cpu2 in there.

You have to remove that black piece of plastic and put cpu2 in.
Normal cpu 1-2 are in to.

will a new bios fix the fsb holes and not been able to boot when memory is at 1200 or not? thx

There is JUST enough room to manage the SATA cabling if you take your time
