I downloaded FaHMon to monitor the clients, but I'm not sure if I typed in the address of the clients correctly, because both clients are marked yellow/ orange. However, my computer is running at a load of 90 % and the taskmanager that two FahCore_78.exe are running.
They would be gray if the address wasn't correct. Yellow is fine in Fahmon, it is yellow half the time for me (not sure why). In Fahmon go to Monitoring > show/hide FAH log so you can see what is going on with the clients. If your CPU is at 90% (I'm guessing in the setup you didn't set it to 100% CPU usage) and the cores are runnng then that sounds like it is running properly

Thank you very much for your help! Finally it works.

Yes, I set it to 90% load. FaHMon shows a progress of 1%, although it's still yellow, so I assume everything is ok.

However, now it changed to green.

I've added the XS team ID to my Folding@home GPU client, getting an average of around 6min 46s per frame with my X1950 GT

Glad you got it working Don Dan. Sounds like it is functional to me

stealthbomber, that sounds good! I take it you must be using ATItool or ATT to overclock your card? What speed do you have the core and memory at?

Sounds like you've got a nice core then mine won't get above about 682MHz without having the random artifact and causing trouble. Though I suppose if I had voltage control I might be able to get higher, unfortunately no voltage support in ATItool 0.26

Not sure about a nice core, just brute force volt/cap mods

That card runs gddr3, right? What were your temps? I had a x1950xtx that I oc'd to 702c/927m and would chew up WUs at about 5m45s/frame ~ 830ppd. The gddr4 is the main difference here. I kept core temps around 70c with fan overrides.

    Nice OC, stealthbomber

@SparkyJJO, you've used the tool to override the fan settings as well, I presume?

    Mine is cooled by water
Currently I have my core at 682, that is about as high as it seems to go without artifacting on stock volts.

Yeah DDR3, can't clock the memory any higher than 729MHz without artifacts but the core is good for 708MHz (stock is 500 for X1950GT) under load 24/7:

looks like ive got everything up and running and for the first time ive got my processor running 100% haha quad cores are evil. seems to be taking a while to complete each project like, i started last night and its still going this afternoon, so far each core is 34% 34% 35% and 54% for each project according to fahmon. im not used to this so i dont really know the average time it takes to complete a project does it usually take about a day and a half?

Sounds about right mate, depending on the project. Check out the benchmarks(?) that are available in FAHMon; in there will be some facts & figures about the projects you have running, and the ppd (points per day) on these units. You will quickly find out that some projects yield a better ppd than others, and what kind of figures you should expect on your cores

I just installed the SMP beta client on my quad core rig yesterday. All seemed to go well (thanks to the setup advice on this thread) and the first work unit completed this morning, but I keep getting messages that the program "could not transmit unit 01 to Collection server" and is retaining the work in queue.

I'm guessing there is some simple setting that I have configured incorrectly ... any suggestions? Working with dos commands is new territory for me. Note, although I am unable to transmit results I had no problem downloading and beginning a new work unit.

I'm not the configuration and tweaking expert around here, but my intuition is that if you are able to download work fine, but not upload it, then it was probably a transient failure on the server side. you could interrupt your process, try
    Code:
    fah5 -send all
to try to force a result send, and then restart your client after it's been a while since your last send attempt.

If you mean you cannot upload to main CS (=Collection Server 171.54.65.58) ?... from your fah log you could check where it tries to upload ...
...then you could continue to check from this page about condition of the servers. See... main cs is on Reject Mode and it has been already noticed at official forums. But it's weekend.
Just left f@h on, it tries to upload finished wus periodically. When main CS is up again... wus will go through Maybe tomorrow...

Thanks for the help guys ... using the "send" command seemed to do the trick, but from now on I'll know to check the server status as well. (Thanks to DAK too for additional help!) Starting to get the hang of this ...

    I'm in.

I've seen info about it for a while, so I decided I should probably put these overclocked cores to use.

Hope I can add some cycles to the team.

Hey guys, just loaded up the smp client on my xeon 3220 and have my ps3 crunching as well. The xeon is at stock speeds right now till I get the water loop sorted. I do have a quick newbie question, I have 5 boxes that are all similar speeds to an athlon 2000+. Are the boxes 'worth' it to run fah on them or are they more suited for other projects like dimes, rosetta, etc.
