funny thing
i flashed via winflash (update all+ clear cmos).
rebooted and everything was fine.
so i entered bios and set logo off, raised vChip to 1,6v (which actually is 1,58 now real). rebooted. it didn't boot up again.
so i cleard cmos via jumper and booted up, entered bios and i saw that the bios wasn't resetted! the vChip was still 1,6v.....strange i thought....but well everything worked...so i didn't bother.
after this i set fsb to 1500 *8 and saved+exit.....it didn't boot.
i tried to clear cmos (jumper / ez ) and save boot. i also tried to boot with just 1 of my 4 ramsticks but everything is useless!
i can't get it to work anymore...i think the clear_cmos doesn't work properly with this thing.
strange thing happend after the clearing cmos with the setting 1500*8: when i plugged to powercord into the mainboard the lights in my appartment went out
some kind of shortcut in the inside of the board?
i don't know....but one thing is for sure: never again dfi....they had enough chances.
i forgot to say: errorcode is 88 = complete nonsense because i tried all ram/gpu/psu configurations

this BIOS update will be worth checking out a week after they release the stable version of it ... . until then . .. . . .

My board had a mental & sh*t blue bricks last night after flashing to 621.
I note the people including myself that say this BIOS is bad are all 266 fsb dual core users perhaps it will work better with a quad or a 333fsb CPU.
My board worked for a few minutes but was unstable then anything you set in BIOS would not stick when saved.
The board would then set my E6400 to 2664mhz as default after a CMOS clear which is 8 x 333 instead of 2130mhz 8 x 266. Eventually posting would hang & then when it posted it took ages so I gave up before I broke something.
I flashed back to 521 & although it started working again didn't feel right so I did an overnight CMOS clear & its all good again this morning.
Don't know what this BIOS is for or if its just plain screwy but I would recommend steering clear until someone with skills tells us its good.
I would hazard a guess & say the mobo manufacturers are having a hard time updating there boards BIOS's to get ready for 333fsb as my ASUS boards latest BIOS is also less stable with my 266fsb CPU's. Its either that or they are dumbing down 266fsb to make 333 look good

Guys, 621 should not be used by anyone at this time, it is nigh in impossible to get out of the code 88 situation, without a bios chip replacement.
The cmos just won't clear as it should, stick with the bios you are currently using if all is fine.
I too am stuck with 88's atm, and I have access to quite a few cpu's and bios chips. Some may get lucky with a bios chip, others may need rma's, so best just hold off this bios.
We are trying to get base to pull it asap, time differences are the issue, I won't be able to contact HQ until early in the morning. Tony has a more direct contact so I will ask him to see if he can wake a few people up...
regards
Raja

raja i appreciate ya getting the word out ... seems like the right thing to do.
even though this is a bump in the road i thank DFI for continuing to work on this board and attempting to improve it. ya things might go wrong sometimes but some work is better than no work at all...
for those in trouble i feel for ya. stay strong and don't panic ! !

sweet board. but the chipset cooler will really limit the CPU heatsinks. since the chipset cooler takes so much sapce.

wow and here i thought support for this board was going to just disappear. im really glad to hear about the new beta, just too bad it kills boardsnow i have a hope of them releasing a bios to support 45nm cpu's.
Has anybody reach over 405FSB in Quad? And what bios version?
I have coldbug in board and other annoying bugs. Only 405FSB 3dmark stable in offical quadbios, and i try almoust everything in bios. Very disapointed![]()
Now only C1 code in boot, cmos jumper off-position-->board is booting and working![]()
