coretemp inaccuracies aside, the temp on the chip (6850) must be cool because i notice very little by way of warmth when touching the tuniq's copper base during orthos....so suffice to say it runs cool.
my old 6700 b1 wood heat up considerably to the touch....ctemps@ idle @20c about 42c@3.4 & the heat would radiate

Yes but thats whats so weird. Using RMClock i´ve seen my E6850 start to throttle when it reaches 82° on the cores.
A bit higher, and the system resets. And thats just with 1.50-1.55 vcore. I cant run orthos or TAT because ot the heat.
System is stable for everything else, playing games, watching hdtv movies.
Would be normal if i actually would reach 82°, but when i put my finger on my heatsink, it is totally cool, not even really warm.

I have kinda given up on reaching 4ghz on air with my E6850.

Redone the thermal paste and the whole airflow yesterday, now my temps are ok.
~30° idle, ~65° under orthos load, with ambient temp ~27°.
But i cant get higher than 3.52ghz with 1.5v vCore, and get orthos to run stable.
So i see the reason i cant go any higher on the FSB more in the vCore than the temps.
If i go any higher on the voltage, the system still boots, and i can run superpi and
play games, but its not orthos stable, getting an error after just a few seconds.
I guess my personal E6850 isnt one of those who like higher vCore much then,
but i am still very happy with it. Even at stock it performs very good. I love it

Will leave it 24/7 on 3.40 ghz with only 1.35v now, with speedstep etc enabled. More than good enough for me.

...actually default on this mobo is about 1.24v in bios... which gets me to about 3.2/3.33
i set 1.425 for 1.33 in probe for a "low" vcore.
bios temp for 1.5v idle is 35C
bios temp for 1.33v idle is .....29C @20c ambient.

i havent really tested the limits of this chip; and i never will either...
