you dont understand what i mean...

i mean the issue that you only have 3:5 and 1:2 divider on fsb800 cpus. f4a only enabled new divider on fsb1066 cpus
so we have a big problem with dividers. (333mhz means 555mhz on ram... so you really need good ram)

    Cellshock D9GMH @ 545mhz cl5-5-5-5-15
    Palit 7300gt 500/1000 @ 780/1600 watercooled

I think you can open up the 1:1 ratio just raising the FSB over 266Mhz.

Then try the 266MHz BSEL mod on your CPU. Just cross your fingers and hope it can handle 266MHz at stock voltages. It it does handle it, you've just got an E6400 at no extra charge, and you also get the dividers.

That is, if this board likes BSELed CPUs... Last mATX Gigabyte board I've heard of didn't like BSELed CPUs AT ALL...

    Cheers.

iirc, bsel manipulation results in no post on this board.

I was affraid someone said that... Weird thing is, many other boards accept the BSEL trick. Maybe Gigabyte boards actually read the *intended* BSEL, and the *asked* BSEL, and refuse to work when they are different...

This has several problems, not only BSEL mods not working, but also, as it seems, new dividers not being available when certain FSBs are reached (which clearly happens with Asus boards, for instance)...

There's a good side to this story, though... 1066MHz FSB CPUs are getting cheaper by the day, and also coming with the L2 stepping (2MB-cache E6xxx only, at least for now), so hopefully one can skip the lack of 800-MHZ FSB dividers altogether...

    Keep us posted on updates.

    Cheers.

Then keep your eyes peeled for anything starting by "GA-G35M".

The "GA" seems to mean "Gigabyte" (); the "G35" (or whatever else in the beginning of this section) stands for the chipset used, followed by some sort of variant indicator, where "M" stands for an mATX board.

The last part of the model name has the "extra" flags. "D" stands for solid capacitors, "Sn" is the BIOS series (from 2 - almost no OC capabilities - to 4 - full OC capabilities -; the 6 on "DQ6" boards usually means "everything AND the kitchen sink ). "R" stands for southbridge RAID capabilities (only boards with Intel chipset, I think, since every other southbridge but the Intel ones has RAID).

What I would like to see is a sub-€100 (yeah, riiiight... ) GA-G35M-DS4R (the GA-G35M-DQ6 would be dreaming too much... lol). That would be a killer board, for sure...

    Cheers.

That's nice but did they open up the lower dividers for 800 FSB CPUs yet? Why on earth does it take so long?

Well, I changed the CPU for an 1066 one and here I have 1:1 on it.
Currently running at FSB 425 with just +0.1V in the MCH. I love it.

Does the latest BIOS support the G0 chips yet, anyone tried it out?

Well known GA pain in the neck way of hiding the detailed settings, press ctrl-F1 at the root menu of the BIOS screen to access Advanced Settings, btw this ctrl-F1 actually mentioned in the manual which almost nobody reads.

A remark about the new bios would be that vcore is now limited to 1.6V (~1.55V real) instead of 1.8V. So think about it before flashing.

Does vcore still have the lower limit of 0.5v ?

Is it relevant ? Do you have a chip that can undervolt at that value ?

For me it is relevant, thats why I'm asking.

And why do you think they have that range in the first place, just for fun?

...you are ofcourse right to have your own opinion of it's relevancy, but why didn't you at least give the info that I asked for....????

Again, does vcore still have the lower limit of 0.5v ?

Is the g33m-ds2r ready for e6850 out of the box?

TR ultra120 used for my test

Try to boot with 1st bios release F2 ! it works!

    ratio1:1 available

    fsb@444, ratio 9x, vcore@1.55v bios! 1.50v under xp.

So, needless to update the bios prior installation of an e6x50! Good point!
