dont set the vcore to auto.
i dont know if the p5k does the same like p5b, but my p5b will raise the vcore itself, if i set it to auto and raise the fsb.

maybe you can upload a pic with asus pc probe?
    thanks for sharing

I guess I'm gonna have to run to Fry's and get one of these chips when they are available. Doesn't seem anyone is really gonna test what they can do. Though 3.6Ghz auto vcore 1Mb pi is impressive, it's nothing new. All my L6XXB chips can do that. One is currently in a P5K-VM, installed in the silverstone SG03, cooled by the silverstone NT06 (fan removed airflow provided by OCZ GameXtreem PSU), & running orthos @ 425 x 8 auto vcore which is 1.30v @load. I want to see orhtos/prime for at least 4 hours to be impressed & 12 to be convinced. 3.8-4Ghz orthos/prime please, otherwise it's just a b chip with lower tdp.

Sorry if my posted results are not as impressive as people here are used to. But i am just getting myself started in OC'ing at all, give me a day or two I know 3.6 with vCore auto isnt OMG, but i just noticed it, because without any extra work, 600mhz extra isnt that bad already for most standard users.

    For oanvoanc:

Bios is set to 1.500v atm, of course i dont use auto vCore normally. CPU-Z and PC Probe show the same in windows, even with Voltage Damper
enabled, there is still some vdroop.

Your results are nice, I think most of us are hanging on the edge waiting for some 4Ghz prime/orthos stability. Thast's what the G0 stepping has been rumored to do thus peeking most our inerest. Last year we were shown lots of 4Ghz Pi & 3DMark sreenshoots before the core 2 duo was released. I was disappoineted when my first E6600 would only do 3.2ghz 12 hours orthos/prime stable @1.5vcore 1.464v@load. I just don't want that expirence again between ES & retail.

I know everyone wants ~4ghz and especially some proven stability, but i dont even have the cpu for 12 hours hehe. And i understand your opinion. Give me a bit more time to play around, i hope i can do 4.0 stable, but at the moment it doesnt look like it. Also my current RAM is holding me back a bit.

    +1!

I'm running out of ideas on how to make a better thermal interface between my block and cpu. A cooler running cpu might just fix that, lol.

Can't agree more. There are 3 voltage settings that should always be set manually the first time you boot into bios after setting defaults: vcore, vdimm, and FSB voltage. For the first 2 determine what the manufacturer suggest for stock operation and for FSB (there are several terms used by different mobo manufacturers) I always set to the lowest setting that is not auto. Then adjust from there as your OC increases. It is important to take control of these settings away from the bios.
