    Another stick gone

Don't know what's going on, may be the mobo is to be rma. Yesterday awaiting my ocz flex to return fm warranty, after updating the bios to 0501, I installed 2 gb of ocz titanium alpha vx pc2-8000, again one went bad !!
It was running at 2.30v as 800mhz at 3-3-3-9.
The weird thing is that I have been running a pair of gskill 800 mhz for a week and all went fine (with bios 0311). This is going on since the bios was updated to 0404 and then 0501.
Could it be the bios? Could it be that p5k doesn't like OCZ ?

Could it be too much vdimm?

I've been running 0311 with my crucial on 1200 @2.3v i think their starting to go the same way. had been playing on fri pm with dram static read control. Wouldn't post until i removed a module from slot nearest 24pin power. Added module back & away i went again @1000. Flashed to 0501 & the same thing happened trying 1200. My memory has always hd good cooling but it shows that the voltage can still get it over time i guess.

Anyone having issues with the Realtek RTL8187L onboard Wifi?
Continual load on it seems to hiccup.

It'll ping the router without issue for a few minutes, then it'll lag out. Either a ping spike, or a Request timed out. This causes problems when I try to game on wireless. Normally at my own place I'd be hardwired, but where I am now only has wireless access.

problem with wireless. interference? get netstumbler and see if there's anything on your channel or nearby. preferably, you'd want to use 1,6,11

Apparently Netstumbler doesn't work in Vista.

On my P5K Deluxe I just installed Realtek drivers (RTL8187_Vista_6.1281_WHQL_installshield.zip) which are older than the ones Windows Update finds, but the latest ones available on Realtek's website. These give the same spike issue.

Disabling rate adaptive mode and setting preamble mode to long does not help.

Unfortunately at my parent's house I do not have access to the router's configuration as currently my parent's are sharing with our neighbours. netsh shows that there is one other network operating on the same channel 6, both at similar signal strengths.

When I had a P5WDH I recall having the same problem even at my own apartment with a WRT54GS flashed to Tomato, full signal strength with the router 10 ft away. The P5WDH also has a Realtek wireless chipset. Is this a trend I am seeing?

This happens also to me sometimes, although on the last stick I only changed the timings and the frequency all the rest was "auto"....
Tried gskill kit in dual channel again and it works ok.

Ciao, it well could be, this is the second stick that kills, always the one near the front side, always an OCZ (D9). If I put one stick in any slot it's all ok....that's weird.

I avoid running 2.3v on anything over 1000mhz it just seems like its taxing the ram too much and the ICs are dying. I have had to replace 3 kits of Dominator 6400C3DF running their rated specs, just doesnt seem like they play well with newer boards/dimms

hey gUys like I posted before what my prob is , that my ram suddently cant run @ look my sig specs. @ memtest, I had to downgrade this to 5-5-5-15 @ 1200mhz to get it passes 60 times #test5 and did so far 40 times test #8, does it means my ram is dieing?, I put now my clocks back @ 1000mhz, I would like some advice what is the safest speed/volts to let my ram run: got it now @ 400fsb x8 = 3.2ghz. Would 1000mhz @ 2.30v be safe to use it for 24/7 , I got a 80mm fan mounted on top @ my rams , during the memtest I did touch my ram, it doesnt even feels warm/hot:X, or should I use till 2.25?. Any one out there who can give me some advice, I am pretty new in this ( RAM O/C)

Guys can anyone tell me wht the following options do in Bios on this board I have never seen these before.

    Clock Over charging mode?

    CPU voltage reference?

    CPU pll coltage contrrol?

    and Northbridge Voltage reference?

not only what they do but how they effect performance would be good if you know.

    Thanks

    leave

    Clock overcharging to auto
cpu voltage reference to auto or .63x
cpu PLL voltage 1.5-1.7v is fine (helps with FSB a little bit and stability)
Northbridge voltage reference I leave to auto

I read your previous posts 967 and 970. As I have the same ram but different issues I am convinced that this board and the Mushkin XP2 8500 do not play well together. Tried three different Bios's and the ram has been to 2.35v once for 10 minutes with good cooling. (Mushkin warranties this for 2.35v.) Mine will not post when CMOS is reset and needs another type of ram to get the board to post. Then I have to set the Ram voltage to 2.2V and reintsall the Muskin to get it to work. On Cold boots Windows XP and Vista freeze during moving bar screen (for lack of not knowing what to call that screen). Once the ram is up and running I have run Memtest86 Ver 1.70 from a bootable CD for 6 complete passes on three different occasions No errors ever!! I decided to pick up 2GB of Crucial Ballistix 6400 and all of my issues are gone. So this ram is getting RMA'd even if I can't find errors there's obviously a problem somewhere. I would suspect if you have been running your ram @1200 Mhz for a long time it's probably got hot and is slowly getting worse.

    Angry

I have 2x1 Gbytes Corsair Dominator 8500-C5D and I am getting crazy

Two days ago I found "stability" with the RAMs at 860 MHz 1:1 and 2.15 V from BIOS.
Last night I tried to go up in frequency and after some succesfull and unsuccsessfull tries, today I have errors at 860 MHz!!! (same configuration that was stable 2 days ago)

Now I suspect even a mechanical problem due to big and heavy weight disspators of those sticks. Maybe the vibrations and the warm heavy dissipators can move a little the sticks in the memory slots, causing misscontacts and errors.

Tonight I will try to clean the contact with a pencil rubber and acetone and reseat the 2 sticks.

I let you know the result of my tests.

Gotta love this board, 3.8 at 432 x 9. Very stable, got north and south bridge on water along with gpu and cpu. My cell shock is running at 500 MHz and my core temps are about 35-38 at idle. I'm happy, best board I've used. Better than the GA-965P-DQ6.

I think I killed my E6600 I have been running at 8x425 with 1.5v for a while now and everything has been running fine. I come home from work yesterday and my computer is still on but monitors won't recover. I reset, no beeps, no monitors, nothing! I try each stick of ram by itself and still nothing. I liteally rip apart my computer and put it back together but I don't even get a BIOS screen, ever. BTW,t eh green led on the mobo comes on.

Suggestions on what to try first? Tonight I will try to clear cmos, pull all devices out except the CPU, check voltages on PSU. Anything else?

Has anyone seen this problem with the P5K deluxe? Specs are in sig. Thanks!

Sorry if someone's already posted this already:

Has anyone else hit an fsb wall at ~532MHz? I think it might be my e6400 just restricting it, but even by nailing the vcore @ 1.7v, and upping the pll volts, it still doesn't want to know. I have the swiftech MCW30 waterblock on the NorthBridge, so it's kept pretty cool. I was expecting ~560MHz at least.

I know a few people are seeing problems with memory. I'd be totally shocked if that was it. I'm running within spec at 2.35v. I'll know more tomorrow when I try some more memory and a different PSU. If that doesn't fix it, then it looks like the mobo. Damn, I hate RMAing stuff.

Just finished my build last night with p5k deluxe. Got a first time POST after setting up Raid 0 for Vista 64. So far everything has been great. Still need to flash the BIOS later today. This is only my 3rd build, so I'm feeling pretty good right now. Can't wait to start OCing!

Unplug power wait 10 seconds, take bios battery off, leave like that for few minutes.
insert battery and 1 stick of memory in the slot near the cpu, if it doesn work try the other stick.

Thanks!
can you put the memory or cpu on another board to see if works or not?.

how much voltage were you supplying to the memory?

Yep, gonna use another PSU, memory and video card later today. I already tried another cpu. I was using 2.35v which is within spec of the Mushkin Redline.

I have 6 120mm fans. two in front, two on the side pointing directly at the memory and mobo in general, 1 on the cpu and 1 in the rear. So you think I shouldn't run it that high?
