thanks ace-rue for the linky to the bios

did a succesful flash with all cmd parameters. /py/sn/wb/ etc

at first after reboot it just sat at a blank screen beep beep..a quick power down & cmos clear fixed the issue.

    enabled 1T 4-4-4-12 AUTO subtimings@802mhz 1:1, 401x9fsb

ran everest memory copy test..slight increase from 7457MB/s to 7982MB/s.. not amazing but better. My last nvidia board, p5n32 netted me about 8600MB/s in this test with 1T.

but it died. and was cranky with sata.

at least this abit is stable. hopefully a offcial bios release will improve performance

I'm looking for a new board to replace my sorry-excuse-of-a-motherboard (965P DS4). Any compelling reasons NOT to go with the IP35 PRO? Is it worth the premium over the IP35 vanilla (+40€) or the IP35-E (+70)?

    xTr33m sammich!,
3x RAID w/ SATA 3GB/s maximum *theoretical* burst speed is 3x 300MB/s hence the figure you're getting is way off.

You should not need an excuse to get rid of any Gigashyte board, they are all POS in my eyes

What you gonna do if they don't? Sell it and take a lost? They already got our money. I'm stuck with this POS Quad GT with its digital PWM that runs hotter than a volcano.

Already have a buyer. Only paid $95 + tax after rebate. Should break even.

Ahh ok, this is wierd that weve gotten more then 2 beta bios's within the first couple months of release of this board. The quadgt took months to even get any type of fixes for several real issues, that was really frusterating.

Because of it being a brand new chipset, maybe?
Abit wanting to regain the enthusiasts' attention, maybe?

    I dunno, just guesses.

It's not really - the QuadGT had several betas fairly quickly too.
What is different is that the IP35 Pro shipped with a BIOS that was eminently usable for the majority (the QuadGT initial BIOS was really only usable if you had a SATA optical).

Very little difference on super with same settings, still the slowest run on b04 was a hair faster then the fastest run on b03, imho this increase is not much more than a hair difference anyway, still an improvement. on another note, uguru cpu temp report much closer to coretemp now, within 1-2c, was 3-4c off before.

Best of three runs with bios b03
