Haha, sorry... that is obvious. When I set the voltage to anything in bios other than manual and the default settings, I can no longer adjust the voltage with RMCLOCK.

    That is weird.

I have the latest version of RMclock and can set the range of voltage.

I have both EIST and that other powersaving feature enabled in BIOS (can't remember name right now)...and it's all playing together nicely.

On 800MHz CPU's the 4:5 is not available. The lowest seems to be 3:5.
I have a E4400 and with BSEL mod it would not boot (I guess on AUTO the dividers are 4:4 and the memory was running at 1066).

Without BSEL the maximum for me is 280MHz FSB and memory at 933 (I have some cheap Kingmax DDR800).

Do you really think that new dividers will be added with future BIOSes? They released F2 and nothing changed.

it's definitely possible for them to add them. as to why they aren't right now, it seems strange. maybe they have more important things to worry about, and matx gets kicked to the side again

that said, it's strange bsel manipulation doesn't work on this new breed of boards. i remember changing bsel to 333 and it worked fine with p965-ds3 and later bios (it only posted at 266, but that's better than older bios where it wouldn't even post at all).

4:5 is definitely part of 266 strap since it allows for 667ddr operation at 266.

hopefully, if new bios comes out that allows selection or at least opens things up, you'll be able to run at 333strap and use 1:1 even.

    guess time will tell

I know about the Gigabyte BIOS because I am using it right now - release F4A adds these memory ratios:

    FSB 1066: 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, 1:2
    FSB 1333: 1:1, 5:6, 5:8

Overclocking is improved a little also.

Gigabyte is working on opening up the memory ratios in their next G33 BIOS. The performance oriented G35 boards will be completely unlocked, early sample is doing 8x500 (E6600) on the 1066 strap right now.
This is the most reliable known info & results using the bios. I opted for the ASUS P5K-VM because it seems to clock higher & Asus has been pretty good about bios updates of late.

For me, seems the only advantage left for the Asus is the working S3 sleep/resume support. Wonder if F4a has improved on that but from experience (pls feedback here, guys), GA isn't too good on S3 support all along.

Just wanted to hop in and post my results with this board (sorry no screenies as of yet, I'm at work now...).

I popped an E6420 in to mine w/ the stock Intel cooler and clocked it straight up to 3.2ghz @ 1.32v w/ some $80 G.Skill PC2-6400. Rock solid.

I'm very impressed with this boards capabilities, I'm loving it!!!

@Caligula: Thanks for that link, looks like I know what I will be doing tonight MORE CLOCKIN'!

    Ds2r Ram Timings

    Hi Lads.

Righty....im running an e6320 at 445 x 7 = 3115mhz with crucial value ram (667mhz) it all seems good but i cant find where to set the timings apart from the multipliers.

is there anyway to access the advanced timings on this board.

    Cheers

I guess this E6420 has a pretty serious FSB wall, it doesn't seem to be stable past around 410-420 FSB and I know this board is capable of more than that.

I'm quite content with 3.2ghz on a stock cooler however, I shall just leave it be!

I dont think it is an FSB wall of your CPU. it seems to be a lack of voltage - all C2D should be able to do more , but you need more Vcore and a better cooling. 3.6 GHZ should be possible.

I might have missed this, but has anyone compared OC results on this board with IGP enabled vs. plug-in card utilized?

    hi ppl

I choose this board as part of my HTPC

I order this list of parts:

    E2160
    A-DATA DDR2 2*1GB PC6400

    to come:

    Sapphire HD2400PRO 256MB DDR2
    LC-POWER 550W 6550 Green Power v2.0 140mm
    Zalman 7000B - Cu
    Seagate ST3250410AS 250GB (1 prato)
    Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R

what do you think about that system ?

    thx

    PS: sorry about my english

I tried dropping the divider to see if that was the problem but still a no go. I still think that this chip has a low FSB wall which is a common problem with the "half series" chips.

i am also running an e2160. if you want to overclock i would take a fsb266 cpu, because of the missing 1:1 divider with fsb200 cpus.
for htpc use only, its a great combination!

what about 800 divider? I imagine most of us won't want to use it.
