Got any plans to do testing on a thermochill vs something like the swiftech mcr? I've been wanting to know the noise significance between the two, especially at 5-8v.
It's a very nice topic to do reasearch on. I'm looking forward to results.

It'll be good to get some science behind all of this. Anecdotal evidence I've heard says suck is quieter, but maybe that's just the placebo effect.
And let the suggestive jokes commence!

I'm not too sure about me posting up results though. While I don't work for Thermochill, nor have I ever received any money from them, it's no secret that I designed the PA series radiators. While I'm happy to point at independently conducted testing and make comments about performance differences seen from those results, people would naturally question my impartiality on the matter, justified or not.
What to do? I'll be measuring it anyway - but whether I make the results public is another matter. I'd hate to do all the work to find out the results, only to have some yob come along and call it biased, and therefore invalid.
BTW - the (12cm) fans I have here:
Yate Loon D12SL-12 (curved blades)
Yate Loon D12SL-12 (straight blades)
Tricod Science SPDL1225S (a Y-L D12SL-12 straight-blade clone - available in Australia - quieter though - 3-pin connector only)
Noiseblocker SX-1 (Rev 1 though)
Xinruilian RDL1225S
AcoustiFan Dustproof "Ultra Quiet Fan" AFDP-12025
Panaflo FBA1212GH
Panaflo FBA1212GL
Delta TFB1212GHE
EBM/Papst 4312L
I also have some Gigabyte F121225SL fans, that came with one of my cases.
Anyone want to suggest me some more (good) fans? If you could provide a purchase link, that'd be great.

I can find the Golfball 2000's in the UK for around US$10 each at a number of stores, but no-one ships internationally.
Here's what I have access to locally. Don't mind the prices. Sales tax is included the prices, and it's in Australian dollars, and we get to enjoy at least a 20-40% markup penalty for not living in the USA.![]()
PC Case Gear 12cm fans

San Aces are regularly in stock at ThermalFX
Great!! looking forward to it![]()
Stew would be nice to include these Spire 120x25mm fans alot of blow power recently bought 10 of them http://www.stonebridgecomputing.com....g/-p-5859.html - price for 10 of these = about 2x panalo 120x38mm fans heh
weird part is the exact model can't be found on spire web site
what web site says
what i gotSpire "FD1202B1M3" 120x120x25mm, Ball Bearing, 3pin connector, 2400rpm Fan Speed, 43dBA Noise Level, 96.06 CFM Airflow.
photos at http://i4memory.com/reviewimages/coo...mm/FD12025B1M/Spire SP12025B1M3 on outer box but fan label says = FD12025B1M
I also have the Xinruilian RDL1225S fans... not as much air pressure as Spire ones while both to me are about same noise level.

May I suggest the 18dB Papst to be added to the testing? One of my friends says these are super silent, a different level than the normal 4412 F/2GL Papst (26dB).
Model 4412 F/2GLL

Dutch store, sorry.
Wow, its been a while since ive been here, glad to see cathar recovered well, Ill be anxiously awaiting the results Cath!

If you wanted to do me a big favor, and you had Paypal, I'd be happy to send you the money to buy one of each (4412 F/2GLL & Sharkoon Eagle 2000 (aka Golf Ball), and pay for the postage to Australia.
Let me know.
how about these:http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2888
I have a couple that used to run at 12v on my old case (never used them on a radiator) and they are the loudest I ever touched, but I have seen many users that swear by them at being "silent" at 7v... at full speed they are rated at 110 CFM![]()
sorry if there are obvious reasons for leaving them out in the first place, I am just a noob trying to help
thanks a lot for sharing the testing with us, cant wait for the results![]()

No, no..these things(FM121) are loud and not a quiet solution..if turned down maybe..I bought 8 FN121 but was shipped 8 FM121 by mistake(the FM121 moves a ton of air at the top end)

Note: FN121 and FM121 are both 9 blade design
also Case-Mod..if you use froogle, I got the FN121 for $7(and they fixed the error without any hassles and shipped new fans 2nd air, they provided top-notch CS)
FN121 are much closer based on my ears vs YL SL..though it felt like the FN121 moves slightly more air
Vapor said when comparing the FN121 vs YL SL(ie 28dbs/47cfm) that the YL was better on rads...FN121 was better on HS and as a case fan
I bought the FN121 to place on a PA120.3 t osee if noise level would be better than the YL with near similar performance since Vapor IIRC used a non PA radiator
BTW Cathar..I maybe able to help you get fans i nthe US and ship to AUS if the shipping will be cost effective???
