if mixed properly, it looks just like the regular promochill stuff. Just look at there blood red premix'd coolant. Its basically the dye bomb, that comes with a clear bottle of promochill.

Depending on how much dye you use in the loop, those are red with or without UV light.

Ok, the primochill liquids, as NaeKuh says, comes with clear liquid with a small syringe (bout 1 cc) of dye-bomb.

the Utopia on the other hand is a much larger syringe, only the syringe, of dyestuff only.
it just comes in a black bag, no instructions as to whether you are to mix it in a coolant or just Distilled water or anything.
i am a bit dissappointed at the fact that they do not give you any info.

um... blood red is not... bloody... it looks nice and dark when you are looking thru a lot of coolant but when you are looking at only 1/2" of coolant in the tubes, it looks like watermelon-koolaid at best.

i tried darkening it by getting more dye-bomb and got a red instead of pink result but when i drained it, it also seriously stained the tubes.

i am going for a diff color since i cant get blood red... might as well go for purple?

    here's some pics...

this is my bro's i basically i purchased 2 Thermochills liquid+dye sets and used 1 1/2 dyebombs on one bottle of liquid to get this look... i tell ya, it's watermelon, not blood...

this is mine, i tested on a remaining (1 1/2 dyebomb mix + Primochill Utopia).

not watermelon, but not blood... shall we say, fruit punch at best?

    here's another view

honestly, take into consideration of what it's gonna look when you look thru a narrow tube filled with the stuff.

1/2" of red liquid, is in no way, anywhere near blood-red.

Kinghong, do you have any night time pictures of that, so I can see how the red looks in the dark?

Thanks for the information though; I'm actually using 5/16" ID, so it's going to be extremely small.

    PURPLE FTW!!!

I dont like fluidXP. I have a horror story when i used it. It left a nasty waxy residue all over my blocks, my tubing, and my radiator. I had to flush it with ETOH, and it took quite a bit of flushes to get it clean.

I dont know about the new stuff, but after they messed up horribly on there original stuff, i decided to ban it for life.

Promochill, i use once in a while when i need a exotic color. But i use there premix package set, because there coolant suposidly contains something helpful for the pumps. Im guessing its glycol. But i have had no issues with promochill, and the temps i was getting was very close to a 5/95 mix i usually use.

This is a pic of the blue stuff after filling a clean flushed loop with it.

the foam reached all the up into the funnel I used to fill the loop after about 5 minutes. this pic is after about one minute.
You talking about the promochill or dtek stuff?

ok, there are 2 things that we are discussing in Primochills.

    1) Primochill Ice
this stuff is clear coolant with red (or whatever color) dyestuff.

    2) Primochill Liquid Utopia
this is just a syringe of dyestuff and additives.

using just the Primochill Ice is not going to give you blood red.
blending in the Liquid Utopia to the Primochill Ice is perhaps overdoing it in terms of over-saturating the additives.

it seems to me that the Primochill Utopia was supposed to be used as additives on Distilled water or something.

definitely, this too has that waxy additives that is supposed to give some benefits to your pumps and such... blah blah blah...

MotF Bane, sorry, i dont have any night time shots. going purple myself.
5/16" tubing, wow... you going to get strawberry koolaid forsure...

the Primochill Liquid Utopia did foam a lot at first but it did clear out eventually.
flushing it out was a pain.

Fluid XP does look like blood... now THAT is blood red! me likes!

The loop isn't built yet... so I can mix the Utopia in a bucket of distilled before putting it in, that should help with the foaming I would think...

The reason I was looking at Utopia over D-Tek was because it has all the other additives like anti-corrosion and anti-algae, whereas the D-Tek is just dye.

what caused it to foam tremendously for me was when i was filling the res, i topped it, waited, topped it again and then when i saw it was pretty much filled, i ran the pump for leak test. then suddenly a burst of air from the outlet got recirculated to the inlet at the reservoir and then rest is foamy...

like i said, it did clear out. my 2nd and 3rd shots were all taken after the foam cleared.

one note though, like i said, to achieve color, i "over-saturated" the dyestuff, utopia and such... well, i saw some "solid" remnants or dye-gunk that stuck to the side of my reservoir. had to clean it out with vinegar mix.

probably had some dust or i did not do a good job at cleaning out the loop.

No reservoir for my build, so that won't be an issue. Bleeding will take a while, but it's a trade I'm willing to make.

If I drain it and find crap inside the loop, I'll just get some alcohol and hot distilled water.

I think I'll just get the standard red Utopia, then pick up some black lights and D-Tek dye in a couple months.

Don't like it. Died out (no pun intended) within a couple weeks and just won't stop bubbling up. Bleh, waste of $6 or whatever it was.

That's the thing, it will NOT bleed out for some reason in my loop. I know i have a high flow loop but everything else always bleeds out eventually. This has been a few weeks now and my water still looks foamy, not just little bubbles but actual foam. Yuck.

well, i guess we're ressurrecting old threads...

my brother's system is now... um... how to describe... a pale pink lemonade?
the color goes away... where? i dont know... but it's going...

and as to the bleeding... i notice that the Primochill is somewhat viscous and hence bleeding is tougher there...

If you must use anything other than water, use the pre-mixed Gold or Orange (looks a little like rust). Watercool.uk has both PC Ice and PC pure in both colors.
