* An Uninstaller is now included with the Macintosh BOINC Manager distribution.
* NOTE: BOINC may NOT start at startup if you are running Windows Defender (WinXP, WinXPx64, WinVista, WinVistax64). This issue should be resolved in a future version of BOINC. In order to have BOINC start automatically you'll need to install as a service. On Vista the user account will need to have administrative access to the system.

That's interesting. Have to give it a try. According to the WCG forum, there's a new profile setting to give better control of BOINC memory usage which is a handy feature if you're using the machine for other memory-intensive apps.

Just swapped 5.4.11 for 5.10.7 right now. I wasn't happy with 5.8.16 and switched back to 5.4.11. Anyways, 5.10.7 is a lot better than 5.8.16. I think I will keep 5.10.7.

When it was first loaded, the result was pretty higher than my old benchmark. So I ran CPU benchmark twice, the result is now back to normal and same.

I also just realized you can log into other computers if you've got them on your network.. I have boincview installed so I have the correct files needed on each computer to view them.. Anyway, I just noticed there is an option in boinc under advanced called select computer. You can login as one of the other computers on your network so it'd be like sitting at that computer with boinc in front of you.. I dont know if it was this way on the older versions but I find it kinda cool

After install, does this create a new device on my WCG profile? I'd rather it didn't. I've got lots of junk in there already from XSOS testing. How can I avoid a new device, if one is created?

Nah, just exit BOINC manager, install, and then start up again. Simple as that

The install will not create a new device unless you want it to. You can install it right over the existing version if you want. The installation program will delete any old files that are no longer needed. Close BOINC before doing the install.

Finally! working x64 release
Using the x86 builds under Vistax64, the benchmark didn't work consistently. So under Vista x64 you'd have to run them four or five times...first few would be ~2800/3300 then Dhry would jump to 2800/5100. weird stuff.

5.10.7 benchies work perfectly now three tries in a row. All benchies done on 24/7 setting:
X2 Toledo @3000mhz
2GB UCCC @252mhz 3,4,3,8 1T
