    5600+ X2 on chilled water

    It's summertime the weather is hot, can't get a respectable overclock, so what's an overclocker to do? Well build a chiller of coarse!
    Early results of my latest project.

    Is that CPU really only at 1.35V?

    Amazing!

    No pics, I'll try to get one up when I find my camera. I suck at photography.

    CPU-Z reads voltage wrong, it should read 1.75

    Nice clock with watercooling!

    How fast would it go with aircooling?

    hmmm

    Holy crap, my 5600+ does that on air with 1.575 set in the bios. You can put 1.75V into one of these things at all? I can only imagine how high this would go on cold water and a neked core. Im going to try neked core soon.... just lowering the Opteron HSF to mate properly to it. Unfortunately the Alpha 8150 is not compatible with AM2... couldn't even use a drill press to customize it, it has missing areas that are needed.

    I really wish I had bought your motherboard, the Crosshair has a much better bios and voltage regulators.

    On air @ 1.6 volts, 20 degrees C it will run @ 3400 MHz, but my room is @ 30C right now. It's just not stable over 3400 MHz on air.

    Here's what it did on air

    Yes 7950GT SLI

    Don't know what temp liquid was at, cpu was at 10C
    Was first test of chiller, need to switch to different liquid, anti-freeze and water is just not good enough.

    Your CPU does a stable 3.5GHz with aircooling? Let's see a 3DMArk06 compare URL?

    To show that this CPU has some stability at these speeds

    afireinside;

    I have thought about a 6000, on paper they should be awesome, but in the wild the 5600's seem to clock better.

    CCUABIDExORxDIE;

    The F3's seem to have broken the 3.1 - 3.2 wall. This chip clocks really easy to 3.4, then wants volts to go higher.

    later in the week, when I get some time, I'll see if I can get more!

    I`m glad to see someone trying chilled water on these- I was gonna try it myself and aim at 4GHz but id rather have a Spi and 3DM machine.

    The higher multi of a 6000+ should allow ya to push the temps into coldbug range, with an x15 you`d only need 266 on the base HT speed.

    Do you know where your chip coldbugs yet?

    my 5600+ ws bugged below 0, only HTT speed though so a reasonable clock can still be achived at 'pretty low' temps thanks to the high multi, unlike the brisbane i tried
