interesting thread. from what i've gathered from reading this forum, the DQ6 (and probably/hopefully the DS4/DS3P):

- changes straps at a lower FSB than the p5k dlx (417Mhz v 500Mhz?)
- memory performance is not as strong as the p5k dlx
- performance varies depending on bios
- some bios options don't work
- is just so-so when overclocking dual cores (compared w/p5k dlx)

+ runs cooler than the P5k dlx
+ is able to run tight memory timings at reasonable FSB speeds
+ people are quite happy with it's quad core OC'ing performance
+ does very well with G0 steppings

taking this into consideration what is Giga's track record...can we expect them to fix their bios/performance problems?

perhaps the Giga is a board built for the processors of tomorrow. if it shines with the G0, maybe it will shine with the Penryn...but who knows.
