hi. I tried to register on these forums for a long time (6 days) , well I got a Water cooled Antec 900 with no case mod's to hide the cables , but I am planing to do it later , Exams are FTL



for some strange reason my little LCD temp meeter didint work

leadtek 8800GTX with a Koolance 8800 GPU water block
GIGABYTE K8Pro-SLi
GIGABYTE Galaxy 2 water cooling unit
240x120 Radiator mounted in the Front
2GB of DDR400 RAM
950GB of HDD space

Mine doesnt , I took my Dremel and made some :P , I am going to do a Conversion mod on my 900 , this means I am going to flip the mobo on its head , and on the other side , so I can see my 8800GTX water block and it will make the case Alot less Cluttered , and it will make the case more Original and I will definite do this Cable mod

How big a hole? If you talking about 1" inch or smaller, then a chassis-punch is probably the way to go. 3/4" is about the smallest you can wrap easily with c-channel. Larger that 1" you could still use a chassis-punch, but they start to become expensive. (You also can join multiple holes with a nibbler to make slots) Hole Saws are competitive up to about 6", particularly in aluminum and plastic. After that, power tools like this are probably your best bet.

I just got mine today. It's 1.1, the HD mountings look fine.

My question is about the side panel - is there any way to cover up the fan hole? I don't want pressure leakage there because then it's not going through the VGA cooler.

The trianglular piece, (with the fan hole), can be replaced. I did it when I lowered the fan hole to clear my HSF.

Here is my new setup in a modded Antec 900 case. I cut a couple rectangles in the case with my dremel and routed most of the wires through the back. The case was painted by a friend who works in a custom paint shop. Most of his work is for motorcycles and cars, but he agreed to help me out with my case for a small fee

Water Cooling Parts Used:
Pump: MCP655
CPU Block: Swiftech Apoggee
Radiator: Swiftech single 120mm
Reservoir: Swiftech Micro

Order flows like this,
res->pump->radiator->cpu->res

On the res i am using a 1/2" fitting going to the pump and a 3/8" intake coming from the cpu block. The 1/2" tubing leads to the pump where it is then converted to 3/8" for the rest of the system. Temps are descent, 38C idle and 59C loaded with Orthos at 3.4ghz.

I got better temps with my dual heatercore and all 1/2" tubing, but I wanted this build to be really neat and all self contained.

nice colour mate did youn use 2 pac or single im interested in painting mine metalic blue but not sure how well the pant will stick feed back on the method used to pain that sucker would be nice

It was rubbed with an abrasive pad, primed, painted, pearl coated and then clear coated. I had some help from a friend who works in an autobody paint shop

I'm planning on using a 1.25" dremel bit to make holes in this case for wiring. I'm going to use rubber finned grommets to keep the wires stable. Has anyone else modded the case similarly, and if so what size holes did you use, how many, and where did you put them?

You're aware that this is a whole thread on wire-management for the 900? But, since you asked, I used a 3/4" chassic punch, (it's about the smallest diameter that can easily be covered with c-channel, although I didn't end up using any). I joined the holes with nibblers to create slots.

No, I have it backed up on a second identical computer..

It mirrors itself via GIGA-LAN.

The Striker MOBO has 6x Sata Raid..

I wanted the Speed of Raid Zero, not the Safety of 1 or 5..

I see you guys are using an additional tricool fan in the top slot...have you installed any fan filters? I really want some filters for this case but I don't know which ones work best.

Yeah i basically used a Dremel with the disc cutter to cut out the hole, then filed it down using a fine grit file and sanded it again.

Cutting the hole was the hardest part.
