E6700-6B2/Striker Extreme on air, nothing past 3.6 ?

SolyTech 600W PSU


Machine is completely orthos stable for at least 1.5hrs+
temps at orthos load 68, idle 53.

Anything above 3.6 and the random reboots, blue screens, power offs begin regardless of any voltage changes i make.

Any ideas on how to get to me at least 3.8ghz??? besides water cooling...

Give it more voltage,

Try screwing around with different multi/fsb speeds to get you where you want. 380 * 10....422*9...etc.
As for cooling I have never heard of that cooler you have. Get a new air cooler, ask in the air cooling section on xs.

Run your ram at stock speeds and timings. Give the NB more voltage and cpu vtt. Just try different things and see how you make out.

Also try the Strike Vdroop mod should fix that vdroop which will make things a bit more stable.

raise the 1.2ht to 1.5v

loosen ram timings and run 1:1

use 10x multi. to lower fsb req'd

raise nb volts and blow a fan on the nb.

my advice is use the 0402 bios for better oc i dont know why 0402 worked better for me; it just did.


set sb voltage to auto.

if you really want more speed consider water cooling

680i's mobo is a bit tricky.
1.You must provide a good NB cooling, a stock heatpipe su cked.
2.try to go on 1:1
3.If you try To get FSB500 with 7 multi , 500 is about the mobo limit.
4.No need high voltage, just find the precise match.

2b honest i don't think ur cooling is good enough.

Like Savoy said make sure ur NB is nice n cool.

Also your cpu temps are pretty much @ max right now.

My QDR is 1440
while my ddr is set at 720..

isnt that 1:1 ? cpuz reports a 1:1 ratio.

let me try the extra NB voltage, and setting SB to auto.
