Asus P5K Heatpipe

Hey guys, well I'm getting my P5K and other parts this week and wanted to know how the stock heatpipe is for cooling. I know I must replace the TiM with AS5, but how are the actual heatpipes? Are they efficient coolers or do I need to replace them? If I do, can you point me to a cheap, and quiet good cooler?

No, don't replace the P5K TIM. Either use as-is or replace with aftermarket equipment. The Asus set-up is bonded surprisingly well this time. Go figure. The standing recommendation I have taken from the P5K and P5K Deluxe threads in the Intel forum for the new Asus boards (P35) is leave the pipes. At least try it first and THEN change it out.

it does the job fine and the mounting looks even better than P5B Deluxe which was a little shady but i never took it off

well with the p5b, the pipes are useless, just get a hr 05 and some ramsinks.

So far I think the heat pipe is working alright. Keeps my mobo temp 36-45 idle.
