    P5K Overclocking...

    Hey guys, I looked at your stickied and stuff but couldn't find anything that helpful to this...

    Are there any guides for P5K overclocking? I have the vanilla P5K with system in sig and pretty good cooling so I'd like to get a decent OC. Please link me or guide me as my last build was an ECS and that was very simple and crappy @ OCin.

    Also how would I go about replacing the TiM on the heat pipes? How difficult is it?

    Basically Start with this:

    raise your FSB to 350 and keep your multi @ 9x. This will net you 3150Mhz (3.15GHz) Do this without increasing your Vcore yet. If you find this NOT stable increase Vcore to 1.35v and try again. Once you can stablize this very small OC, start to nail down the voltages in the BIOS, DONT LEAVE THEM ON AUTO!! Adjust your memory timings as per factory recommended (for now) and start to increase the FSB till it becomes UN-STABLE again. Raise the Vcore to around the 1.45Vcore area and see how far you can scale with that Vcore. I'll bet you can go to the 3.4-3.55GHz range. After you nail down the needed voltage for your CPU, start to tweak the ram. Run faster timings, or more relaxed timings to maybe increase your OC. Really hard to type everything you need to do, but im sure you get the point now. Have Fun

    What's the max safe voltage for the E6600 under a Ninja? Also, what are good Idle/Load temps?

    PS: I also read that I need to lock down the PCI/PCIe frequencies to 33 and 100 respectively. Also, I'm supposed to set the NB voltage? What are some safe NB voltages?

    Oh and also, what's so bad about VDroop as long as you remember the voltages in BIOS and don't get confused?

    I think I'm going to start clocking it soon. My temps are (idle):
    27-33 each core and my motherboard temp is 36-40 idle (Celsius).

    What do you think the max voltage I can safely give to my CPU is? Also, what do you think the max idle temps for my moo and CPU should be? When I come to a stop @ OCing, should I increase other things? (Very new to this)

    Max for air to be safe in my opinion is max 1.5 volts, water can handle abit more but I would stop there to at 1.55 or so , for more go LN2 , phase and co ...

    Also take notice to temps, keep them under 65°C for the cores and 60°c for the CPU... to have it long lasting...

    Also you can lap your CPU is it's concave or so, that will nibble of some degrees... test the IHS first for flatness ofcourse...

    Opinions differ on temps and max voltage for sure , I'm more of a modest overclocker 3 - 3.2 for day to day use, 3.6 - 3.8 for benching and fun...
