hehe, I know that - I've been eyeing up every Watercooling stockist in the UK for the past few months for my PC343-B build (I actually got the PC343B from Aqua-PC's).
If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.
And from that knowledge, you still claim that a complete AC build will still be within 2-3C of those built with the best components (Thermochill/DDC's/Swiftech/D-Tek/EK) as propagated in that thread??
I think the link from ProCooling showing a Cooler Master Aqua Gate mini beating out an AC build should put that BS to rest.

How about we end this thread by saying "Let's put it to the test"? Please ignore the 'tongue in cheek' remarks as they are purely a reflection of my sense of humour.![]()
I am currently in the process of building a rig that will contain 'high and mighty' products like DDCs, Thermochills, EK water blocks alongside a 'heretic' AC Aquaero and USB Poweradjusts (DDC controllers).
I still havent decided on my CPU block though... Its either going to be a Fusion (cant have any 'heretic' aluminium Swiftech block in my loop, oh no!) or a Cuplex Di as i am very interested in the "dual Storm" design.
I offer to test both.
Slight snag - wont be able to carry out this test for approx another couple of months.
EDIT: looks like i have been beaten to it.![]()

There's nothing wrong with an Aquero, but I'd like to keep this thread going. There's a lot of myths that need to be put to rest by exposing them to a good debate. There's a lot of FUD/misinformation being spread in that other forum and I'm concerned that people will take it for the gospel truth.
As enthusiasts in the hobby we should do what we can to clear up these myths so people joining can make clear informed decisions. The more money being put into this hobby from satisfied customers, the more it will push its evolution. A win win for all of us.

We provide the items which include the D-tek / EK / AC / Swiftech etc and the company provides an unbiased review in this case it will be a national magazine in the UK.
And just to calrify and let you know how a review works, a company lets a reviewer use the products, they do not get the keep them we get them back and they provide an unbiased review (if not it would be pointless).
The perks of the review i.e what we and they get out of it (which is the point you are trying to get at) is they get a feature to fill the pages of there mag/site that intrests people and draws them to it to increase hits/sales of the mag. We get our website published as the suppler meaning we get more hits and more sales if the review is good or bad.
that simple ....

ranker those people are total idiots...I really don't feel like reading all of it. 5 pages has been enough to make me feel sick. In fact I feel more sick than I would if I sat in the back of a car from here to LA. You should make a thread linking to this thread over there, that way we can see their facesI'm evil. You look just like me over there lol. That rickcain dude was hilarious, overclocking a pump?????? pay less get less????
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Wow you obviously don't know what you're talking about. I was laughing my head off when I was reading that thing, didn't notice you came alongranker thank you so much you've made my day.
Pumps do not have clock speeds. Pumps have a bunch of electromagnets placed with a circuit so that when an electric current is supplied, the impeller which is attached to a magnet SPINS, pushing the water. There is no frequency. You might be talking about controlling the pump's speed. There's 2 ways to do that, PWM and voltage regulation, PWM gives it frequent bursts of power, and voltage regulation...changes the voltage.
By the way rickcain, there is no need to buy everything to know what is better and what is worse. I'm pretty sure no one in this world has all the commercially available blocks, radiators, reservoirs, and pumps (suitable for wcing). That is why online communities share their information. And like ranker said (on [h]), if the company that MAKES the block ADMITS that their block is not as good, why do you need to have that block to say it sucks?
There's some basic science that you and the people over there need to understand before you can make comments like that...2-3c is totally made up. Damn I don't think it was a good idea to type all that out...I had more important things to do.
I apologize if I've been rude...now I need to get back to being my usual self and study my physics and calculus to prepare for my plan I have ready for the near future.

It's sad because this vocal, misinformed minority tries to drown out the suggestions made by Erasmus, Arcygenical, Bio-Hazard, and ikellensbro whom are the few voices of reason that honestly try to help people on the forum rather than push a specific line of products.
Things they love to propagate:
1) Complete AC setup will be within 2-3C of a build consisting of the best performing parts like Thermochill, Laing, Swiftech, D-Tek, etc.
2) Alu is swell, even though the companies mentioned don't have stringent plating processes.
3) Koolance is the bomb.
4) AC has better "silence"... oh yes, waterblocks can be silent. Who da thunk it.
5) WCer's are wasting money and its mainstream go Phase as WC'ing isn't enough to sustain overclocks. The only reason for water cooling is for silence. (This claim was made after their whole "2-3C" thing was debunked....can we say flip flop)
6) Looks > Performance
7) Low flow performs JUST AS WELL as high flow
8) We all have garden hoses so our rigs are crap
9) That I'm overpaying for when I can piece together a complete rig for $600 that will perform better than his Aquaduct360, which basically is a radiator and a pump.
The list goes on.

Lenovo Thinkpad X220 - Core i5 2410m, 4gb
waiting on 28nm video cards...
Through all I've said, I've never said the high-flow stuff wasn't outperforming. I was playing devil's advocate because there are some people who want just what they're offering. If that weren't so, they would have disappeared by now. They've got Swifty and Dtek beat by miles on name recognition. When I started really watercooling, Swiftech was all 3/8" with these annoying as hell pushfits an d really freaking strange setups-sealed blocks, you name it... I didn't give them a second thought. I ran a Koolance, cause #1 it was free (great way to get people) and #2 I could set it up easily. My first Koolance, BTW, was decased before I got it. I stuck 2 120s on there and called it a day. Temps were honestly not bad, first on a 1400 tbird and then a 2400 tbred.
Fast forward to a few months ago, Swiftech actually has decent blocks and kits, has moved to 1/2" and who the hell is this Dtek? While I've been out of that loop, I've run three different DD systems, the Koolance again as an external in a cut-down Lian-Li, and toyed with friends' TT and AC setups.
With the advent of AC in g1/4", I'm tossing all my DD stuff in my own setup. I don't give a rip what you say, I'm not cooling a C2Q, I'm cooling a low-wattage 3600 X2 that doesn't even always run overclocked. I spent beaucoup bucks on the mods for this PC, and I prefer the aesthetics of the AC. In fact, total cost of mods may exceed hardware. I'll most likely keep the Koolance GPU blocks cause they're not giving me grief (running a serious anticorrosive) and cause they're more of ato deal with.
You can call me a fool, though I won't have any Al in the AC setup. Their shiny stuff is nickel plated brass, perfectly fine in a loop. I'm just switching blocks. It's my money and I'll test what I want to. I tested a Maze4 versus my TDX and I'm simply not getting hot enough for it to be a huge difference.
In that circumstance, it doesn't matter what I run so long as it doesn't leak or explode. I'm not running the same stuff you are, nor am I running it as flat out either. My application is different.
ranker, you're an intelligent guy. I hold no ill against you. I just don't see how you have to bash everything different from your setup. I don't want your setup. I think all these MM cubes/swiftech blocks/PA radiators are cookie cutter and IMHO pretty ugly. It's an opinion. Just remember that in order to have yours respected you must respect others. Yes, I know you're an engineer. I respect that. I bet you can bring numbers to the table you DIDN'T find on a website. But I can bring my own, and if they're more relevant to my case, they'll win for me. I'm not recommending ANY blocks for anyone, we're all too different. Each setup is unique and should be treated as so.
meh, I'm gonna ruin my appetite. ranker, I would tone it down, but you got valid points. as far as I'm concerned, on some things we'll disagree, but you still cool.
Yeah, and I got one for you guys-Guess what the COO of DD is using on his CPU? A Maze5 with a custom top. Don't believe me, look at this month's CPU magazine. I'mma try and find a pic. It's hilarious, and a TDX for a chipset block...
Why would you spend so much on watercooling a stock CPU when you can buy a sweet lookin air cooler like the Zalman 9700 series or something, if aesthetics and silence are your game. That's like negative intelligent.
