I ended up getting my rig figured out. I don't know why but I think there was something in the case shorting it out. I took it apart and put it back together and since I did that it has been running fine. Can run pretty much like Waynes in his last pick. Right now its at 356 x 9,
    2.00 on the memory divider,
    memory settings are 4-4-4-12.
1.42vcore..testing at 1.38 seems stable so far about half hour of memtest and 32 super pi. Gonna go play some CS and see if it holds up
    +.04 on the ram

played CS for like two hours on it and did the 32m super pi several times. Feels really solid. I had it running at 3.4 but with 1.50 which I didn't think was worth the extra stress on the chip.

Could post picks but just look at the last ones wayne posted lol.

btw thanks for the info on the hs Wayne.

I ran a few tests using the x8 multi this morning and found that I could run @ 3.20GHz torture stable using .0125 less Vcore than when using the x9 multi ??????

    Anyone tried this yet ??
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've got the same stepping on my E4300...SL9TB...and this was a nice read and hopefully mine will perform similarly.

about to order one of these, think its worth the extra $25 for the e4400 for the chance of getting an earlier steping? (I dont think they sell as well as thr e4300s)

    Nice stuff everyone.

So far, my E4300 with stock cooling on the ICFX3200 is 2.9GHz Orthos stable. I dunno if maybe my temps are way out of what, but I'm at 1.325v and 2.9GHz loads @ ~ 70C, loading at 73C now at 3GHz.

Oh well, gonna see what I can do with stock cooling before getting an Ultra Extreme.

    wow nice stuff guys!

i am amazed by that sort of ambient temps! wow 19 on a cpu! cant ever get them here in Singapore. ambients here about 32 degrees celcius.

thinking of getting a low cost cpu for fun. seems like 4300 sounds like a winner!

My E4300 is Orthos stable @ 3.2Ghz (400*8) with 1.375Vcore. And does 3.9Ghz max suicide screen with 1.7Vcore. All with boxed cooler. Although it's now watercooled and with no IHS

im getting 3.6ghz with 1.55v but not stable. Too much vcore for this clock.

Well, hopefully I've still got some room left with this thing.

Still using the stock cooler and stock thermal paste and I can do Orthos Small FFT's for over 8 hours at 3.1GHz with only 1.325v. This is with 18C room temps, and I also figured out that my load temps aren't as bad as I thought, I was using version 0.95 of Core Temp, which some people have had issues with, I'm actually at about 59C on load. Runnin' Small FFT's at the moment at 3.2GHz stock voltage, hope all goes well.

I can't wait to get a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and install it on this chip once I've taken off the IHS.

Interesting that I have not seen many E4300's in circulation among the overclocking community as new as mine. I live in Canada and got mine from NCIX...awesome CPU.

Finally got the boxed cooler on my naked cpu Temps are a little better compared to watercooling en boxed cooling with IHS. Here are the screens:

    First my setup with watercooling:

Cpu with copper plate that I had to use or else the waterblock wouldn't make contact:

    The E4300 with shim:

    The IHS:

    CPU again:

Had to get MOBO out of case before I could mount boxed cooler:

Cooler hits core (Atleast that's what I thought )

    Everything oke:

Booted for 1 second. So I reset bios. Still no boot. Tested with another CPU and it worked. So I check contact again. Boxed cooler has weak contact because of mechanism. So I tryed something else:

    It's a copper plate.

But didn't work to good. So tryed yet something else:

Removed the mechanism and build something of my own:

    So now the temps:

    With IHS boxed cooling 1.375Vcore

    Without IHS watercooling 1.365 Vcore

Without IHS boxed cooling 1.375 Vcore:

And this is with 1.45Vcore and boxed cooling:

Little bit better temps as you can see. Now I only need a good waterblock or aircooler.

I recently got an e4400 with the $20off Paypal deal at Newegg. Was hoping for an M0 but I got an L2 CPU with an older pack date, I guess the M0 e4400 won't be through the channel for a while. Anyway I'm wondering if it's worth keeping? I have not opened it (I know - each CPU is different and needs to be tested) but is this batch known to be especially good or bad for e4400?

    SLA3F
    Q702A917
    pack date 5/22/07

I'm looking to do 3-3.2GHz on quiet air with moderate voltage and temps, it's for a secondary build. Is this one a keeper or should I return and just get an M0 e4xxx or e2xxx later?

I've found a few Q702* results that look decent enough although the e4xxx chips seem pretty hit and miss, none with the specific batch code though. Any other input?

Got my e4400 SLA3F (Q705A394) a week ago. Running @ 3.15GHz for now but have done some benching at 3.25. 3.3 seems difficult with my chip, hit very high temps also at that freq (using tuniq tower).
    ive got computer
